...Djokovic is terrified?

Love these finals. The one that neither of them has won.

He still has to finish of Stan here but after a wee slip in the 3rd he's looking good once again.

He needs to win it not to be disappointed to have picked one of the biggest moments of his career over the Scottish Cup final

'Mon the Murray!

I can't think of any more exciting recurring sporting events of the last ten years than a Murray v Djokovic grand slam final.

As much as I love Murray, in my opinion Rafa v Federer was a league above in terms of class.

Nadal v Federer?

At least they were usually close.

Nadal v Federer?

At least they were usually close. Maybe you forgot that Murray's two grand slam wins were against Djokavic? And in others they have been long epic matches.

I can't really comment as I wasn't watching tennis nearly as much back then and even now I only really watch Murray as I have that attachment.

I don't doubt you though.

But I do oh so love a Murray Djok final, it's like Hibs at Hampden - usually ends in disappointment but when it comes through it's effing braw!

At least they were usually close.

They haven't played each other in a GS final for 5 years. So okay, 5 years instead of 10.

This will be Murray v Djok in a 7th GS final since 2011.

Murray and Djokovic are both streets ahead of Nadal atm and are the two best for sure. Murray dismantled Djokovic with ease a couple of weeks ago, hoping for the same on Sunday.

Djokovic is the acid test though and more often than not, he has lost to him over the last few years. Really praying Murray wins though, would be a fantastic achievement

Superb by Andy. And he's been wearing green and white throughout :agree:

Really hope he finds a way to beat Djokovic, but the guy's like some kind of extra terrestrial these days.

Murray was outstanding today, he totally dismantled the champion.
Djokovic is another proposition altogether though. This is the one he really wants this year. Could that get to him? He's lost in three finals but he does have a dominant record over Andy in the last few years.
That said, our man won in Rome and was blighted by his back injury for 18-24 months, allowing Novak to clean up in that time.
Djokovic, who has been on court about five hours fewer in Paris, is the big favourite but Andy pushed him to five sets in last year's semi final and looks to have improved on clay again since then.
A good start is vital on Sunday. In Australia, the first set was over in the blink of an eye. The second and third were really close but Andy just couldn't find a way back.
C'mon Andy!!! That's 19 Grand Slam semi-finals, 10 finals (all against Djokovic or Federer). Make Scotland proud with a third title...

The deciding factor in the final will be the same as it always is with Murray, if he serves well I fancy him! If his service game is remotely off Djokovic will be all over it.

Murray will go a set up very quickly only for Djokovic to take the next two. It will look ominous but Murray will muster all his strength to make it 2-2 before winning the last in dramatic fashion by headering it past his despairing opponent.

Murrays fans will then invade the court, jostle Djokovic and ruin the whole day for everyone.

Only 10 men in history have made the final of every grand slam tourney. Andy's in very elite company. If he wins he'll be 3/4 of the way to his own grand slam. Great athlete, amazing competitor, hope he does it!

Said from the start of the tournament I'll be betting Andy to win 3-2 in the final. Skybet currently offering 15/2 but hoping they throw in a cheeky wee price boost for it on Sunday.

Come on Andy

It would be pretty crazy if the Aussie open is the one remaining that he's yet to win considering it's generally been his best tournament.

We've got used to him now but it's still phenomenal that one of the best players in the world at probably the biggest individual sport in the world is Scottish and a Hibee.

So much pride.

I was a huge fan of Stephen Hendrie and snooker through the 90s and 00s as an Edinburgh man but Murray has blown that out the water.

Was mentioned during today's match that Andy got advice from Sir Alex Ferguson (before he won the US Open?) about the Three Cs - Concentration, confidence and consistency. No good having the other skills without these. The men in this pic meet these exacting standards!
