Although we're tied up to this kit contract am I right in thinking we could get a bespoke kit but it would be Avec. Got to be better than Nike team wear like Killie's shocker I saw yesterday.
I noticed Bradford have got bespoke Avec kits for next season, they look a lot better than Nike teamwear kits.

I spoke with club store kit man and he expects an announcement imminitely with the away strip launched first. He said that Nike / Avec are torrid to deal with at the moment due to "overwhelming demand" across Europe.
We have a friendly next weekend and he fully expects the away strip to be launched before that with the home strip the week after.
EDIT: He also said that he doesn't expect to see Marathon as our main sponsor, but it will definitely remain Nike.

Could we not do a new league strip, but wear lasT seasons strip ( which could have a nice "cup winners" badge ) in the cup games ? This would give everyone a chance to get the winners strip, and also allow for new sales too.

In Italy the winners of the Cup get to wear an Italian roundel on their strip, with the league winners wearing an Italian shield.
Hibs should start this tradition in Scotland.
If Aberdeen can award themselves meaningless stars we can give ourselves a cup winners honour. Never know it might catch on.

That actually looks pretty good with our badge on it. Would prefer cup winners green though.
As long as it's not made of paper like some of the Puma ones seem to be. I think hearts are using the same template as Switzerland which should be a laugh.

Pretty sure Doncaster and Barnsley had that weird rectangle on their kits a couple of years back when made by Avec,
I find the Avec stuff pretty pointless to be honest, if you want a Hibs training top why not just buy the Nike one that the team use?!

Agree, but can understand that ultimately we need to drive new sales every year and if it was just the same sort of style every year it is more difficult to do so.

I imagine it would be possible for the fans to choose between pre selected options, obviously us wanting to design them from scratch would be a non starter, but many of the mockups people create on here are based on templates, so I'm sure the club could do something to get us excited about the process!

Given the last minute confirmation of Marathon Bet, is it likely their sponsor badge will revert back to how it was 2 seasons ago?
Just that thinking back, sponsor logos tend to look more 'stuck on' in the first year of a deal, presumably due to having less time to get the kits ready?

All we can be sure of is that sponsors names on "shields" looks ****, and really disrupts the wearability of the jersey.

I think the club needs the financial boost it gets from a new kit every year.
I'd like to see us alternate, so new home strip one season and a new away one the next season therefore getting 2 years out of a strip but still getting the benefits of a new strip every season.
That tying in with sponsorship and manufacturing deals could be a problem though.

A Hibs top, is a Hibs top! At the Final there were lots of historical tops on display, mine included...from the early 90's.
Don't see the need to get the latest and greatest, unless it is very good.
Supporting the Club for sure, which is actually a good reason this year....we need everyone on board and buying, backing the Club. If I like the new strip I will order and get it sent to New Zealand.

True and merchandise isn't exactly cheap these days. I appreciate and understand the need for any football club to be looking and maximising earnings but it is a pressure particularly if you have young kids wanting the latest kit every time. Any way, don't think after buying a season ticket and joining he HSL and also booking trains to games I'll be able pick up a replica for some time

I've heard it's emerald green with a white V neck.
Away is fluorescent yellow and pretty basic.
Also, that it's being launched on Thursday or Friday but there's a hold up with the delivery of stock so adult sizes won't be in the shop till August
Don't shoot the messenger.

That's what I've been told. Black shorts and yellow top apparently. Not sure how I feel about it. Will need to wait and see. Hope it's not as bad as I'm seeing it in my mind.

Hopefully this will be the last year we have Nike as a sponsor. Shambles how it's almost July and school
Holiday time and the new strips are not out yet.
The club could have made a small fortune if the new strips were released not long after the cup win. Other clubs seem to manage it so surely we should be able to.

Up until about a week or two ago, we had no shirt sponsor, which has likely added to the delay

Shame that would have made a fortune, we are on holiday in two weeks. Hope they come out soon along with more cup merchandise. My kids want 16 and 11 put on their new hibs tops, significant numbers in our history and my kids lives😊

The green shorts we have worn in the past have all been the emerald variety.
We've turned out in white, green, black and blue shorts in our history. Blue shorts with green shirts (1889 to 91) what were they thinking? :greengrin The green was for Ireland and the blue for Scotland.

Black and white colouring of the picture suggesting a return to a black away kit maybe?

This might have been mentioned before, but who is in charge of marketing at ER?
I know it might have been a bit early, but I'm sure clubs have announced kits that early before.
Next seasons strip should have been revealed straight after the cup final and available for pre-order to take advantage of the huge swell in passion and emotion everyone was feeling.
Obviously I know it won't affect most of us buying the strip but I think it would have certainly helped with people who might tend to think more about spending that kind of money than the impulse they would have felt to just pre-order it at the time.
It's the same with the cup winners stuff, I was in about 2 weeks ago and they had the '#persevered' shirts and pens (£10 for a pen!!) but other than that nothing.
I'm 90% I heard the girl tell the guy in front they would have it in within a couple of days and as far as I know there's still nothing?
I can't help but think it would have boosted sales to get this stuff out when everyone was on the ultimate high and probably wouldn't consider cost so much.
Just my two cents mind, could be talking p!sh:greengrin

Spot on. Something has obviously gone tits up regarding the shop / merchandise selling. At this rate we can sell next years winning merchandise at the same time. This is a massive missed opportunity. It would be good to hear the clubs thoughts on this crap state of affairs.

We didn't have a shirt sponsor until last week so how exactly were supposed to start selling a kit? The shirts are being announced a week after agreeing a sponsor which suggests they have had the plans in place but were waiting on the agreement.

Settle down, it was just a suggestion:greengrin
In relation to that, they could have issued the strip design without the sponsor and then announced that at a later date, the design would be unlikely to change other than having the sponsor plastered on the front.
Whether that is even feasible or not I don't know (Sponsors might not be happy with not being on the announcement etc) but it is a possibility that could have been looked at to boost sales.
Every little thing that could have possibly got more money in to the club on the back of the Scottish Cup success in my opinion would have been good:agree:
For all I know they might have looked in to it & it wasn't a viable option.
It still doesn't explain the poor planning in regard to the cup final merchandise though does it? A month later and no sign, that's poor whatever way you look at it.
That's surely not down to sponsorship?

In my experience when a kit has a motto associated with it it's usually rank rotten. Here's hoping I'm proved wrong :greengrin

I wonder how many people don't bother buying every strip nowadays because they know it'll be out of date soon enough. Especially at Christmas when you know it only has another 5 months or so. I may be in the minority of course but I used to get every home top when it was 2 years (usually for Christmas) but rarely do nowadays. It's normally a polo top or training gear I get nowadays.

FIFA game - once a year £50
Call of Duty game - twice a year, £50 each.
New pair of trainers/shoes- at least 1 a year, £50 - £100
Folk will be wanting 2 year season tickets next :-D

I'm inclined to think that the 'motto' is more in keeping with/reiterating Hibs' 'Life with Hibs' campaign rather than an actual 'kit motto'.... Marketing gurus tend like consistency across the brand, this is just their way of doing that.
