You can't really blame him for not wanting to bring his kids to a city that is shared with HMFC.

I heard that Leeann has suddenly become highly superstitious after her tea leaves on 21 May predicted a 3-2 win for us. She is keen to interview Louise van Gaal, as he has the same initials as Leigh Griffiths. It's superstition gone mad, but in Leeann we trust. :aok:

I actually know Tangergreen personally - knowing who he is, and who his source is, I don't think it's fair to be completely dismissing it out of hand. IH has had teams promoted and playing decent football en route - therefore not so ridiculous.

He should however have listened to my advice not to post on here due to the welcoming responses he'd receive from fellow hibbys.

The cup final was compelling veiwing, as noted by many a famous face on twitter ect.

Come off it.

Anyone who lurks for six years and then makes an opening post like that is asking not to be believed.

It seems a very implausible idea given Holloway's personal circumstances and his media work. That is before you consider his limited (zero?) knowledge of Scottish Football particularly at the second tier.

Smartie
03-06-2016, 01:42 PM
I think all this Lennon/ Holloway/ Warnock talk is fanciful nonsense.

We're about to be starting our third consecutive season in the second tier of a league which is very low-profile.

Whipping ourselves into a frenzy about names like this is likely to leave us very disappointed when a much lower profile but perfectly suited candidate (who might even actually have a knowledge of the league we're about to attempt to win) is appointed.

It's completely fair to dismiss it out of hand when he's got no track record, no post history, and just says "my source".

If I started a thread saying that "according to my source" Taylor Swift was going to be the next Hibs manager, would that deserve to be taken seriously?

I remember a numpty last summer who called anyone on here thick for thinking Scott Allan wanted to leave Hibs just because he said in the press he was happy here and said there was no chance of him leaving Easter Road at that time. Strange that Sky Sports are not 'sharing' this information.

They reported that John Hughes, Steve Evans and Stuart McCall have been 'mentioned' in connection with the vacancy.

So you get a scoop but don't report and let their staff tell all and sundry.

It's implausible for me because Holloway has a history of wanting to stay close to his family. He commuted to QPR in West London from Bristol for three years because his children attended a school there. He later took the job at Crystal Palace so that he could move closer to his children who by then lived in the London area.

To be fair, if you listen to his analysis on Sky he's very knowledgeable. Knows the game and knows players.

He took Palace to the premiership as well. Unfortunately he made too many mediocre signings in the summer transfer window (15 if I remember correctly) and the team took a few spankings and were dead-certs for relegation until Pulis took over in January. After leaving he gave a pretty fair assessment of his own downfall.

Overall he did a good job and left on good terms with most supporters. I'd like to see him at Hibs, and think he'd get us promoted, play decent football and give is a few good laughs along the way, probably all with a dodgy defence.
