I'm an avowed disbeliever in all thing hocus pocus, curses and all that, but it has just occurred to me that the West Stand's signage job put the harp back on our main stand!

Hi Heid Yin

I think that even the most rational among us started to believe that we were cursed in The Scottish Cup.

Maybe there was something in the old harp story after all...we will never know if it was ever true, just glad I was alive when the harp went back on :greengrin

There were a lot of strange patterns that made me believe it was our year.

The harp went back up.
We win every 4th cup final.
The last 3 team to beat Raith Rovers have now won the cup.
Then we scored 1st in the final (no team has lost after scoring 1st since 2004.)

I found two spiders in the morning of the cup final, normally they'd have been stomped on as I'm pretty scared of the wee ****s. Not Saturday though, they were carefully lifted and placed outside.

I'm pretty sure that was the difference between us winning and losing.

You're welcome

I presume that this refers to the Hibs crests now outside the West Stand per the following story on the official site ? :-

It's difficult to believe in gypsy curses but it's also one hell of a coincidence.
The 'crests on the west' definitely look great anyway.
:top marks to Hibs for doing that.

A little bit tenuous, but................The score 3-2 makes an uncanny appearance on our way to win the SC.

We beat Hearts 3-2 on aggregate, we beat ICT 3-2 on aggregate we won the final 3-2 and out of the 5 rounds the total amount of times we won the ties/games 3-2 is 3-2..........................spooky :witch: :greengrin

Absolutely amazing that this happened , can we rewind to last Saturday best day of my life love being a hibs fans . Rides are tough at times but I wouldn't swap it for anything " let's win the league now"

If a gypsy told me that the sky was blue I would have to look up to check, its good to see the crest up but I don't put that down to hockus pochus, as Pat Nevin says there very few days in your life that you will remember forever but last Saturday was one of these day, surely that's because the sky was green!

I was flying to Dublin on Wednesday the 18 May mid afternoon and Pat Nevin was on the flight, seated in row 32 (ryanair)

I texted a fellow supporter that it was an omen that we would win 3-2

sadly didn't back it at the bookies though :(

Harp on the stand notwithstanding, it is also the first time we have reached the final since the lads from St Patrick's HSC found and rededicated the final resting place of Dan McMichael ..... just sayin' like :greengrin

Newton Heath changed their name to Man utd on 26th April 1902.the very same day Hibs beat Celtic in the Scottish cup final.
114 years later we beat the curse and Man utd win the English equivelant on the same day.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but when the ball came off Liam's foot the clock was showing 91:23. Don't add them together.

Why was the harp removed in the first place and not put back on straight after?

Couple of articles on it above. Of course, according to some Celtic fans, it's because Harry Swan was a raging hibernophobic who wanted to erradicate all of our Irish roots.
