They were excellent on both Saturday and Sunday. Unlike, their useless 'friends' in Glasgow.

Yip, there were a handful of police walking behind the vans escorting the Victory Bus and they were very easy going.

Went around Leith for hours today. Saw not a spot of bother. Whole day was in good nature. Exactly what everyone wanted. Some of the police were having fun with it too. 10/10 for everyone.

Glory glory.

The Hibs were having a party, stopping traffic/dancing/singing, nothing serious apart from one fud throwing a bottle. No arrests that I seen

Cheers, my missus drove past the harp and said it was surrounded by police, must have been about 10. Certainly nothing when we got back earlier

I thought the Police were great until later last night when without explanatiom they closed/asked 3 pubs to stop serving at almost exactly the same time.

We where in the Alhambra and the atmopshere was amazing. Folk singing, dancing and having a good time. Group of guys outside dancing and a lot of younger folk hanging about just to be part of it. Absolutely no trouble at all.

About 9.15 2 Police vans pulled up and a squad of Police jumped out and started quite aggressively herding people into the pub. After they had a chat with the staff everyone was told to drink up and leave. When we got outside, we walked up the Walk towards home and saw similar scenes at Robbies and the Harp and Castle.

I'm not sure if there had been bother elsewhere and it was a reaction to that but it all just seemed a bit OTT and unnecessary. Meant the night ended on a bit of a sour note tbh.

I think they gave a lot of leeway on saturday due to the occasion but I think the law says you cannot drink outside a pub after 9pm.

In general the police here have been superb and everything has been handled in good humour and understanding of the occasion, unlike the Glasgow mob.

For a wee bit of balance, the Glasgow Polis were first class in and around Central Station after the game.

Yea I must admit that prior to the game they were ok and happy to talk, one of the woman PC's on a horse allowed me to stroke it's nose and give it a polo mint ( not a euphemism ), afterwards they didn't looks as cheerie as they did before.

Police in Edinburgh very much low profile yesterday as they should be.

There to "Protect & Serve", job well done.

My close friend was the policeman at the head of the bus.
Big rangers fan and said the atmosphere was outstanding, he loved every minute of the parade. He said the message from the top was for the police to 'enjoy' the day and be a 'social presence'.

You wonder what the message from above was for the Glasgow police.....

Funnily enough I had a good experience of the Glasgow police. The young guy at the high-school gates stopped us from going in, all 4 of us in green and white hibs tops, and said 'are you going to the gym? Can only park in here if youre going to the gym' and kept indirectly saying no, so we turned and on the way out shouted 'off the record, if we said we were going to the gym, would you have let us park?' Young guy turned with a big grin and went 'I'd need to take you at face value sir wouldn't I?' Haha! Very nice guy, also pointed us in a street we could park in.

I thought the police were sound yesterday. Did see an older guy getting lead away from Leith Links just before the team arrived. Must be gutted!

The police went into the main crowd and came out with him, he looked worse for wear, I don't know if he took a funny turn or not as the police were very quick to run into the crowd to see to him, looked like too much bevvy and heat wasn't a good mixture, he seemed fine though. Also another older guy around 80ish had a wee turn, was seen to immediately by a couple of police, he stood up and looked fine, long day standing in the sun by the looks of it.

Tesco in duke street closed after it was ransacked and Vandalised - this happened in the afternoon about 5pm - was in in the morning and they were belting out Proclaimers tunes for the benefit of the customers - dont know if it was OTT hibs fans or general Thuggery

My mate's 16 year old daughter was 'high fiving' the police down at the links and all except one female cop returned her gesture (female cops male colleague gave Lauryn a 'high ten' to make up for it)

Thought the cops were tops yesterday, well done to all of them.

The police presence was absurd outside Robbies on Saturday night, about 30 police officers surrounded the fans (Who were just singing and having a drink) then up rolled a police dog, who done nothing but drink a puddle of alcohol. Then 20 minutes later all the cops were mingling with fans.. Very strange scenes.

Brilliant atmosphere though.

There was an older gent taken to an ambulance which pulled up not long before the team bus so it may have been him. Hope he was alright.

Was the same outside the harp and castle, bit ott but they allowed everyone to drink on the street etc so fair play to them.
