As Hibernian players nibble on their pre-Scottish Cup final meal on Saturday, a 33-year-old man from the Pilton area of Scotland's capital will probably be finishing off a few beers with his friends before heading for the local supporters' bus and ultimately Hampden Park.

"I must admit I'm glad we're playing Rangers. We've beaten them twice this season already so we've got a good chance."
There's a final twist, though, for this one-time hero. He confesses he is still looking for a ticket.

Yeah but we have had the benefit this last year with McGeoch, Henderson and Stokes plus the money to bring in McGinn from Allen sale. Also we had Jackie McNamara Senior all those years ago and big Yogi !

Surely Deek knows enough people at the club to get a ticket? It's a disgrace he should be reduced to asking around.

As much as I love Derek Riordan, he really is the last guy that should be offering barnet advice after his own efforts!

As for the main point though, I`d be surprised if Deeks is toiling for a ticket. Should always be room for club legends when comps are being dished out.

Given that he was offered training facilities for a fair length of time , I'd be surprised if he was in the bad books with anyone at the club. I'm sure he'll have contacts at ER who could have sorted him out with a ticket.

He must have enough contacts at the club to ensure that he's sorted.

I certainly hope so anyway.

Well it shows you how badly he is connected then if after several hours nobody wants to connect him . Ticket now accounted for and at least someone was desperate enough to go for it . As it turns out i trust them enough to collect on Saturday in Glasgow after bad experience in past hence why i initially said collect at my home

One of his family posts on here so I don't think it's anything to do with "how badly he is connected"... Maybe they were busy but I am sure they would have appreciated the offer :aok:

Would have thought the club could have sorted him out with one of the debenture tickets (think it was section I4) that went on sale after everyone had bought their tickets

I'd imagine that must be a difficult decision as I'm sure he'll see himself as a player rather than retired.

Surprised that Deek had a problem getting a ticket. Having trained at EM for a while you would think at least one of the players could have come up with a ticket for him.
