Is that his season over, any chance he makes the final? Wish he could stay fit as we use the ball better when he's on the pitch and give it away much less.

Not seen anything yet. Would be a huge boost.

I think he could be a great player for us , BUT he has to be able to stay fit ,we can't afford the luxury of a player who will maybe play 10 games a season for us .

As much as I like Dylan who is a top player when fit,he simply misses too many games through injury. We can ill afford a player that is in and out so often.

He overstretched in the first few seconds on Friday. I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. Don't expect to see him next week unfortunately.

Exactly the same as farid. We just can't accommodate players who are never going to be fit for long periods of time.

Not exactly like Farid at all. Farid did an Achilles and never really got over that injury, leading to fitness problems and injuries due to lack of matches. Dylan's problem has been due to the one issue that has been difficult to resolve. He has come back and played well but needs more time to sort it out fully. In the meantime I hope and expect him to play a full role on a grass pitch next weekend.

Tim Clancy and James McPake were both good players but the amount of money we paid them to be injured contributed significantly to our relegation (imagine we'd been able to use that money elsewhere).

I really like Dylan, I really like Farid. But we cannot hide from the fact that these players just don't provide us with anything like value for money.

I don't think it looks good for Dylan at all. Sometimes you'd think that having the summer to recuperate would be a good thing but I don't think it looks like it's time he needs.

Our injury record this season has been brutal though, and I'm not sure we can just put that down to bad luck.

You can see that this lad is a real quality player and the influence he has on our team when he is fit and playing is pivotal. But that means the impact when he doesn't play is all the more unsettling. Cynic in me says that if he didn't struggle with fitness and could produce every weekend he would not be with us.

I dont want him to start and go off injured after only a short period on the park
But if we don't hear he is officially out the team mid week then there might be a chance and Stubbs will keep it u der wraps

Dylan has a muscular imbalance in his groin. It seems like something that can be remedied with a lot of training and physio during the off season, hopefully then there will be sustained progress. Simply put I don't think there's ever going to be enough time for him to fully recover whilst the season is still in play.

He spoke to a friend of mine, said he'd come back too early, he didn't say if his season was over or not

At best he'll be on the bench for the Final, we need 100% fit players from the start against Rangers.

If Thats the case its yet another example of the club not getting it right with players comebacks. After injury
Carmichael had similar injury and hasn't even featured off bench
Farid coming on then off in League Cup Final

Neither has paid off but i suppose they were seen as important players and the gamble was worth it

Farid has no problem with his Achilles, it's his knee that is the long term concern.

Hopefully he'll get it sorted this summer. Something has to give because we haven't been able to get him fit and keep him fit.

Hibs knew they'd only get 20 minutes out of Farid, actually got 21, but it was felt he'd unsettle Demble who had come in for United. Carmichael has the same injury as Dylan. Both are in everyday working on their fitness but it appears both are susceptible to groin strains/pulls. For me Hibs are a better side when Dylan plays but unless he can actually stay fit there is no point him being the club

He really makes us tick and we're such a better side when he's fit. I hope we stick by him and maybe even pay for specialist treatment over the Summer, allowing him to fix whatever needs fixed and kick on from there.

It's such a shame that he's so injury prone as he is a special player.

Sorry but are you suggesting Hibs put on a player they knew was going to last all of 20 mins before being injured again??

It doesn't really help Dylan that the opposition tend to kick him more than the ball. The number of heavy challenges he is on the receiving end of is unreal. He gets no protection from referee's either.

Both Dylan and Carmichael have a hip imbalance, which basically means the have a slight twist in the pelvis whcih means one leg is a fraction higher than the other.
I've had both hips replaced and when they started to go I got severe pain in the groin, the surgeon said my hips/pelvis had twisted causing an imbalance, the muscles on one side become too strong and pull the pelvis out of alignment, both these players have the muscle imbalance, thankfully not the arthritis I had.
