I know Iain Russell. He was one of my students six or seven years ago when he was playing for Morton.
Any information as to why anyone with so much going for them would want to take his life?
It has been a bad week for footballers passing on. Please no more!

Perhaps the stigma attached to mental illness could be a factor? The Football community in general should do more to tackle this.

He was a prospect as well. Very tidy footballer.

Recall him playing with Livingston as a youngster, in the same youth team as Murray Davidson, Robert Snodgrass and Graeme Dorrans - he was a really comfortable, competent footballer and it's a shame to hear of his demise.
