I dont know about the lower divisions, but if your question relates to the premier league playoffs - nope (first one was our debacle, second was the huns last year).

Different format I think. They would have played a tie less than what we'll have to do.

IIRC last season, no team in any league lost the playoff to the lower league team. (So bar the champions and bottom teams, the leagues stayed the same).

I think we were one of the few (maybe only) higher placed team to be relegated.

True. I think they had to play a semi against the second place team and then a final against the winner of the other tie. It should be like that for us as ours is all weighted towards the premiership team.

Agree. We voted for this structure to stop us going down when in the top league though, how that backfired big time. It shows how ****ed up it was to lose to Hamilton in the first place.

This is only the third season of the play offs being in existence and Hamilton are the only club to have gone up via the play offs so far since Sevco losts to Motherwell last season.

I have said all along that I don't think that the 3rd or 4th placed teams in the Championship will ever go up via the play offs, under the current structure, and I stand by that.

I obviously hope that I am wrong this year but I personally don't see it.

English Championship 2009/10 - Blackpool got promotion to the Premiership but only finished 6th in the league that season.
