Lambert has activated a clause in his contract with Blackburn, meaning he can walk away at the end of this season. With the Celtic job up for grabs, this can't be a coincidence.

Would be surprised if he was a serious contender. Has he done any good anywhere he has went.

Norwich and Colchester, on small budgets at both.

Think he was around 20s at one point but now he has invoked the clause in his contract and won't cost them compensation looks like people are putting 2 and 2 together.

A score he described in the post-match interview as "7 going on 15". Think their goalie played a Logan that night.

Lambert has done absolutely nothing at Blackburn. They've been on the slide for a long time but he never really showed any signs of turning things around.

To be fair, they sold Gestede and Cairney at the start of the season, then Rhodes and Olssen in January. That's 4 good players for the championship, they didn't go out and replace them, so you can't expect to challenge.

Poor reflection on him if he leaves so soon IMO.

Paul Lambert would be worse than the guy they've already got lol.

Agreed, he would have been well aware of the restrictions he'd be working under. It was always going to be hard losing players of such quality and having no money to replace them but walking away after a few months doesn't show any stomach for a fight - which is what Blackburn need right now.

And Wycombe wanderers.

Villa only real failure but there is a lot wrong with that club that so many managers of late have failed to overcome.

I reckon he would do well at Celtic

Stubbs to Blackburn?

Think if we get promoted or win the cup his stock will be high down south and can see him going to a similar sized job

Loyal fans, understanding and supportive owner, low expectations - it's almost the perfect job.

Was Villa a failure when you see what has happened since?

Bad new, i was just beginning to understand what Ronnie was saying, if Lambert comes in as his replacement we are back to square one.
