Three goals is the max this Hibs team are capable of scoring in a game. They do not have the personnel or attacking instincts to batter opponents and the manager doesn't set them up to run over the top of teams. I've given up on second place so i just want to get through the game avoiding injuries

Queen of the South bet this mob 6-0 I think and that's when they had something to play for.

We should be tearing them apart tonight. Especially after Saturday's performance. Hit them at pace and don't let them settle on the ball. It's not too much to ask.

With this 7 goal difference between us and Falkirk, these last two games should hopefully give us the chance to overhaul the deficit and reach second spot. If I was Stubbsy, I would just go for it big time. I personally think that not having to play an extra 2 games in this play off nonsense could be the difference between us winning the cup and gaining promotion.

That's true. Hopefully we have learned something from this (although lessons never seem to be learnt) and we have a right go in their face from the start and play at tempo. Why we get into slugging matches with ***** like this really annoys me.

Vital we win the game so we can take advantage of Falkirk not winning on Sunday however obviously a few goals would help not sure I see us overturning the goal difference.

Stubbs should look at our last home game to Alloa. Not our best performance, but a ATTACKING 3-5-2 allowed us to get in behind the opposition and cruise to a 3-0 win. We should be looking at the same tonight. We could even go 2-6-2 :greengrin for all the attacking Dumbarton will do, and have Bartley dropping back to make a back 3 when required.

Dumbarton manager has said they will look to frustrate us. Lets attack from the off and grab a couple of early goals.

Can't see it tho

The key with these teams is the early goal. if you get one then they have to come out a bit and try to get an equaliser making it easier for us to get chances. Get a goal in the first ten and we could be looking at a decent scoreline.

Well it looks again as if goal difference is the thing,so a win of 3-1 I agree..Sadly a lack of imagination and clinical finishing means 7-0 belongs to the history books....how I wish to be wrong on that though.

To say pressure is all on Falkirk, well if we do not win tonight there is no pressure at least not in last official league game..
A leg weary Hibs it seems last time around :agree:,yet again time to shape up.
Remember how leg weary Rangers were in last years play off final.......so come on go for second place ,third best I mean is not on .

That's the case against teams that are on a par with you, but a team like Dumbarton will never change the way they are set up, whether its 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 to Hibs they will play the same way which is sit in and avoid a hammering. If they frustrate us and sneak a goal then all the better for them. I am desperate for Hibs to score a few tonight but honestly cannot see it.

We'll have a go but it will be the usual story of missed chances, 2-0 up and we'll lose a late one with the gaps we leave at the back.

We have as much chance of winning 1-0 playing direct as we do playing our normal way. People just love a reason to bash Stubbs it seems.

it is in the Championship, however our performances against the Premier League teams show that ball retention while not the be all and end all is highly important when playing against the better teams

2-0. Cummings scores an early first half goal with Hanlon rising at a corner late on, good chances created are limited. A Dumbarton goal is controversially ruled out at some point. The evening is colder than expected with supporters left feeling angry at weather forecasts which becomes the subject of abuse on this occasion

I hate to break it to you, but that's the league we're playing in and thus our style of football should have been adapted from day 1 to getting us the hell out of this league, to the detriment of our performances in the cups if that's what would have happened (which I'm not convinced it is as the quality of the players in the squad should - SHOULD - have meant we were perfectly capable of playing different styles of football against different types of teams)

Not in the Petrodiddy and against all the other sides in this league they have majorly blown away. Rangers is a shocking example as they have played very good football the majority of the season as shown against Celtic where they were the better of the sides too.
