Would have been a perfect player to bring in right now as our midfield is crumbling away with injury and fatigue. We are dead on our feet after an hour.

I'm one of the relative few supporters who still rates Sammy quite highly so I certainly wouldn't be opposed to this. On his game he's a genuine goal threat from midfield and a very technical player, good to have as an option IMO.

Thought he was great when he first came onto the scene then seemed to go off the boil a bit.

He seems to be putting in a really good shift at Livi though- my Livi supporting mate raves about him.

With the return of Fyvie and hopefully Mcgeogh soon, I'd hope we now have enough to do a bit of rotation without recalling him though.

He's hardly ever scored.

The supposed answer to our problems is always a player currently injured/on loan etc. It rarely actually turns out to be right. Stanton had plenty of chances to show us that he was worthy of a place in the squad.

7 goals in 70 senior appearances for Hibs according to the gen?

A goal every ten wouldn't be too shabby. Not Pat McGinlay but not bad either.

How does that compare to the current midfield?

I'm not saying he'd get a game ahead of any of them but we could do with the midfield chipping in with some goals.

It's not about starting games but taking guys off at 60-70 mins to give them a rest, knowing McGeouch and Carmichael are fairly injury prone, not having enough cover is poor squad managemento.

Fairly similar. Definitely need a midfielder who gets us 10+ goals a season.

They'd have more chance if they were to start shooting.

I was speaking to the Livingston Goalie a few days ago and he said Sammy has been very very good for them.

he's bound to say that.imagine if he told you he's crap & you posted it on here,it would get back to Sam that a current team mate doesn't rate him
