Well done Hibs on reaching the final. In the pub before game, the lads were talking about previous games/players and Darrens name was mentioned. Is he a yam or otherwise?

Darren tagged along to a few games with the crowd that i used to go to ER with, that was back in late 70's i think, he lived in Dryden street just off Pilrig st, honestly can't remember if he was indeed a fan or just going to watch a game closer to home

Nope Darren didn't really support any team as a younster, his dad was a Jambo.

Didn't he dismissed that rumour as nonsense?

not a bad goal record at all in his time at hibs for a midfielder, 170 games and 50 goals

Thanks for the replies. Looks to me he is a bit of a neutral tbh.

An old mate of mine lived on Dryden Street when he was there and told me he was wearing a hun top, my mate said to him next time I see you wearing that I'll belt your lug :agree:

That's true. I recall him as a teenager wearing a Hun scarf ...

I met Darren Jackson in Rutland No.1 one evening years ago and asked him what team he supported as a boy. Told me he never really supported any team.

I'm sure there was a photo of him as a kid as a mascot at Tynie, possibly on a Hearts match day programme cover? His old man was definitely a big Jambo. Regardless, he was a great player for us.

Was definitely in the Hibs end at THAT final in 2012. He was a couple of rows in front of me in the upper tier of the South stand.
Don't know if it meant anything (I.e. - he's a Hibby) or maybe it's just where he was able to get, or be given, a ticket for that final.

You decide!!

His dad was definitely a staunch jambo but watched Darren at the club he played for , also he did support the Rangers when he was younger and he was a mascot at a hearts game but it wasn't the 7-0 game

It's because he's brought his son up as a hibs fan. Was telling me that he said to his son he is allowed to support any of the 27(ha) clubs he played for, and the wee man chose Hibs.

Seen Darren a couple times at ER.

Great servant to the club. One of all time favourite players.

Who cares who he supports.

If he does support Hearts just shows how professional he was as always gave us 100%.

We got the best years of Darren, he was a standout in the team and pretty much kept us in the league on his own when we were starting to slide. For once Celtic came calling too late.

Folk often forget he came on as a sub in the 6-2 game for Hearts, by then his form had gone.

A great servant to Hibs and a fantastic example to Scottish footballers who if they put more effort in training/less boozing as he did to earn that Scotland call up from Craig Brown at age of 29, and have 2 games at France 98, fantastic.

His old man was a good guy, he managed my school football team at Leith Walk Primary.
