View Full Version : Anyone leave early thinking it went to a replay?

4 guys sitting next to me got up with about 2 minutes to go lamenting a replay, I assumed they were joking but they never came back. Saw a few others confused it was going to ET, is this a recent change to this cup?

Sure it changed after our semi replay against Dunfermline in 2007

First of all you don't leave a semi early when still in the game and secondly how does somebody not know when it's been that way for about 10 years.

Day trippers that haven't followed Hibs for over 9 years?

I'd imagine that they are feeling rather sheepish right now.

Isn't that illegal? Surely just having a pint would be a better way to deal with it.

Apart from the stadium announcer saying so at the end of 90 mins. :greengrin

Couldn't hear the announcer where I was sitting through most of the game, it was a bit bizarre to just up and leave but at least they will have missed the traffic.

For once I got to enjoy driving up the road amongst away fans who looked depressed, it was great.

They maybe just moved? I noticed a lot of fans watching extra time from the concourse in the East

Ah yes the Dunfermline replay, it had a tiny crowd, I am sure Damon Grey got a start (that is the second time he has been mentioned on here this week!)

It was a shocking performance, however I did find a £20 note outside before the game, so silver linings!

Hibs and Dunfermline competed in the last ever Scottish cup semi final replay.

Did you have to remind me of it, a dinked penalty won it

I read earlier today that it was 8,500.

It was displayed on the big screens before the game as well. I'm sure it was also announced before kick off.

I'm having difficulty in classifying those who didn't attend but had the money and time to do so. Would we say they are bigger or smaller pricks?

I was in the main stand yesterday and noticed a steward untying a big flag in the North just before 90 mins and handing it to someone. I did think that was odd considering nobody else was getting ready to leave.

I'll admit knowing that it did go to ET/pens yesterday and had to tell a couple of mates that at the game. The reason I knew that was that I didnt know if we'd equalised against Falkirk last season that ET would have kicked in. Only when i got back on the bus home did someone tell me.

So it can happen, people may have very well left yesterday.

They'll be gutted today mind! :greengrin

Sorry but the rule changed almost 10 years ago.
What about 2013, Falkirk Hibs 3.3 game and UTD Celtic the next day also 3.3 both went to ET.
Don't know how anyone could not know games are played to a finish. More so Hibs being the last victims of a replayed semi !

Aye fair points. Maybe a few jars before the game last year had a bearing on my judgement
