Not sure if this has been posted yet but here you go. Pretty shocking stuff, Marcelo kicks Arnold then feigns a headbutt. Goes down like a sack of spuds.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D7OTGw9-vLmQ&ved=0ahUKEwivgqqBtPzLAhXHWhoKHdpxD1kQtwIIJDAD&usg=AFQjCNGgS4EFvXJtiTeBErqSNfcW1B0paA&sig2=UHe3x1xqhXuJ4To***FAFg

My son is gutted. For some reason he reckons Marcelo is the best player in the world.

I believe the order he has them is

Marcelo
Messi
Ronaldo
Hanlon

Did RM players always carry on like this, or did Moronho get them to start doing it when he was in Espain?

Don't think I've seen worse than that. I don't understand, was he expecting the ref to send the other guy off for chesting Marcelo?

Amazingly the ref did see fit to book him!

He's a cheat pure & simple ..... apart from being ashamed to leave the house after making himself look like a total fanny in front of millions of people he should be banned until the end of the season.

Should be banned by uefa and fined by his club. Disgusting.

Absolutely. Blatant cheating to try to gain an advantage. Should be banned.

Disgusting behavior. His actions there say so much about his morals as a person. Hope they ban him for a long time but doubt it.

I don't know if anybody remembers the Rivaldo one against Turkey in the 2002 World Cup? He should definitely have got an Oscar for that. Here it is anyway:

The ref sent the boy off. Mental. I remember Turkey had the upper hand in that game too. Just as well there's no suspicion that FIFA are a corrupt organisation, or you'd have to wonder how a "mistake" like that could happen....:cb

Let's face it, this is prevalent throughout football. If you want a look at real professionals at this game, watch any game in the Bundesliga. Frankly, Marcelo is just an amateur!!

Do you really think so? I doubt there's any real connection between the morality of a person's character and how often they cheat at sports. In Italian football, blatant diving is more acceptable than in Britain, but most of us would be uncomfortable saying Italians are less 'moral' than us. It's mostly a cultural thing.

It's a mystery to me why players are allowed to get away with stuff like this given the availability of footage to show blatant cheating and play-acting like this.

If the ref doesn't pick up on it during the game then the player gets away with it, and is unfair on the refs as well as they are the ones being conned.

Incidents like this need to be flagged up within eufa or Fifa and players hammered for unsportsmanlike conduct when there is evidence to show they have cheated or tried to get another player penalised or sent off.

If they know there's a 3 match ban coming their way if they do this and are caught on camera they will soon cut it out.

To be fair, as shameful as the face clutching was, the boy still kicked the ball at him, regardless of where it hit him. I remember Gary Smith getting sent off in a game for kicking the ball at a player that I think he felt had gone down too easily. Was at Easter road but I can't remember the opposition. I think we lost.
