This probably slipped under the radar because of Cruyff's death, but no less sad for me anyway.

The Larry Sanders Show is one of my favourite comedy shows ever. At the time, it was so original, and paved the way for so much of today's TV comedy. Ricky Gervais for one, as he acknowledges, owes so much to Shandling.

Yeah total legend, hearing the news got me looking online for the boxset. Remember the odd episode with David Duchovny especially as being hilarious.

Back in the 90s late night BBC2 was comedy gold with Larry Sanders and Seinfeld, 2 of the greatest of all time
