Should Sevco dispose of Celtic and we prevail against Dundee Unied, that would mean the cup final was contested from two clubs from the second tier of the game.

Has this ever happened before?

And when was the last time two second tier clubs were in the semis together?

Anyone know?

Apologies if this info has already been posted, and if I have missed it

I looked at the list of finals and it doesn't seem that two second tier clubs have ever been in a final together.

Two championship teams in the semis.. Our semi against Falkirk last year?

I think 1938 winners East Fife where in a lower league.

The Scottish Cup has only been won by teams outside the top tier twice in its entire history - by Queen's Park, and East Fife. If Hibs and Rangers were to win their respective finals, this year's final would be the first ever contested by two teams outside the top tier.

East Fife beat Edinburghs own St Bernards after two replays in the semi final.

A bit of useless information for you http://www.hibs.net/images/icons/icon6.png

How about 2006 when Gretna beat Dundee in the Semi Final? Gretna were in the Second Division and Dundee in the First if I recall correctly.

Hibernian v Falkirk, aye but they played in a semi. 2 lower league teams in a final? not happened, and looks unlikely
