Care to elaborate because it's not on the Scotrail news site? EDIT: it is ( red face and shame)

It's being replaced by a bus for the whole journey from Edinburgh to Glasgow. On the Scotrail site under engineering works. http://www.scotrail.co.uk/sites/default/files/assets/download_ct/11879_gla_-_ed_eng_mar_16.pdf

Won't most people be going from Queen St to Edinburgh?

DaveF

Magic.

Will no doubt mean additional overload on the Queens St line but you can bet there won't be additional carriages.

Don't worry lads, there are 3 other routes to Glasgow from Edinburgh by rail and they're all running normally 👍

10.23 & 12.17 are running as normal as per National Rail Enquiries. The majority of Hibbies travelling that service will be getting on at stations en route rather than starting at Edinburgh.

I think those go via Carstairs and don't call at any intermediate stations.

Very few travel on the Shotts line to Glasgow because it is slow and infrequent. There are only two trains an hour compared to eight per hour on the other main routes.

The only people affected will be those travelling from Intermediate stations such as Livingston South.

My mate is planning to train it from Hamilton to Mount Vernon. Will this work affect that?

They have some express ones too these days on that line. Can be handy from Livi South. Not tomorrow though!

I'll take that bet. Name your price Dave. Max they can run is six coach trains.

The 12:27 is a cross country trains service and calls only at haymarket, Motherwell and Glasgow central. This train does not run via shotts.

On a sunday they are bi hourly. Do not use this service it's a 90 minute journey.

I can imagine that nearly everyone going from Edinburgh will travel to Queen Street. Its about an hour quicker than going to Central via Shotts.

My main point was, that route wouldn't cause much disruption for Hibbies travelling from EDB as not many would take that route to start with.
