I don't think that's right. They thought they had the option but Stubbs said they didn't and we'd decide if he could go back. We signed Dagnall and Stokes so obviously thought we didn't need him.

I've been complaining all season that we don't score enough goals - that's how the goal difference was blown out of the water before Christmas. Rarely do we pump anyone. Cummings should really have about 30+ goals already. For the rest all to be in single figures as well isn't great.

I'm the same, I wished we held onto big Anier to be honest, he gives us something physical up front if needed! Stubbs obviously had strikers lined up and thought we didn't need him.

But going back to your post, the strikers haven't done enough and the goal difference shows that.

I'm not sure I agree with the consensus that we need to finish second to have a chance in the playoffs. Last year we finished 2nd and the long break worked against us. We could in theory rest our whole first team for a couple of weeks in preparation for the playoffs and our inevitable appearance in the Scottish cup final.

Matty, my brother is a director of Dundee Utd and he told me at New Year Dundee Utd were invoking their clause to take him back. That was before the story broke in the papers.
