Sproule isn’t afraid to admit where his allegiances will lie this weekend, revealing he’s already been on to former team-mate Scott Brown to ask the Celtic captain to let him know which other ex-players he can hope to bump into this weekend.

He said: “When I saw Hibs on their way I decided I was coming over. I’ve got a game on Saturday but I’ll fly over that night, stay in Glasgow and then come over the Edinburgh after the game – hopefully I can wangle an invite to the party!

“Ross County mean a lot, but Hibs got under my skin. They’re my club and always will be. And, yes, I’ll be looking out that leprechaun hat ready for Sunday.”

'Ross County mean a lot'. He was only there ten months.

Once a Hibby always a Hibby. :flag:

He's showing a bit of respect - no less than I would expect from him.

Good read, thanks for posting that.

Hopefully wee Ivan will be in the crowd singing sunshine on Leith along with the rest of his fellow hibees on Sunday.

It's funny I remember reading an article printed by some dodgy rag stating that the only team Sproule would come back to watch in Scotland would be Rangers. Funny that.

Seem to recall laughing when a bunch of huns asked who the **** is THIS guy when he come on at the HMRCdome......

....they knew who he was after he battered three past the radges.

I always liked wee Ivan. I liked him even more after that hattrick

One of my all time favourite Hibs players. Unstoppable when on top form. Good to see he still loves the Hibs 💚

He needs to make his mind up. A few months ago he gave an interview saying he was a Rangers fan and would only be back as a fan to watch them.

He's always welcome at ER as far as I'm concerned though.

The last quote I seen from Ivan was on the anniversary of his hat trick, and he says "The only way I'll be back will be with my Hibs scarf on"...

The quote was certainly amended to say that. Not what the initial article said.

Anyway that's beside the point. Ivan Sproule can turn up at my house wearing a Rangers top and belting out the sash at the top of his lungs and he'd still be welcome because of that hat trick.

Good read that, hopefully bump into him in one of the many establishments on Easter Road after the game :agree:

He is by far the fastest player I've seen at Easter Road, and could finish too. That was some team

Ivan is one of the very few players who, in these twilight years of mine, got my heart pumping.
I thank him for that. :greengrin

Remember a similar article which talked about how him and his son came back to sit in Ibrox with their Rangers scarves on

Was extremely disappointed with this.

Sure it was O'Connor asking who the f*** is this guy? and what's he gonna do? when he was subbed off for him. The rest is history....

According to Mowbray in the post match interview when he subbed O'Connor he got a bit stroppy and asked 'why?' Mowbray replied because he hadn't had a shot at goal all day to which GO asked 'and how many is he going to have like? Mowbrays answer in the interview was 'at least 3'.

Fairly sure that was when he came off for Sproule in the 3-1 win at Parkhead no??
