I haven't watched the highlights but its typical of Scotland teams that when the bowling fires the batting fails and vice versa. I had Scotland as second favourites for this group ahead of Zimbabwe, and I still think Afghanistan will go through, and I think they'll cause a shock in the main draw (only the ICC pretend this stage is part of the main tournament, it is quite patronising).
If Scotland lose to Hong Kong this will be a poor tournament, at the moment its disappointing. I do see some similarities to the ODI world cup in 2007 though. Group of 4 with Australia, South Africa and the dutch: OK performances against the top two and then absolutely humiliated in the match they should win.

Afghanistan have set Zimbabwe 187 to win. It'll be brilliant to see a full member go out, hopefully they can do it.

Just back in time to see the last over. Good result, they'll be disappointed but even if they'd beaten Zimbabwe I think Afghanistan would still have had too much for them.

I'd love to see Oman shock Bangladesh tomorrow but I can't see it. I don't think Bangladesh deserve to be in the qualifier, should probably be Pakistan.

England bossed that yesterday.
I like the T20 but still prefer test matches. One thing with T20 was the 3 hour fix. Some matches in their latter stages are now so painfully slow with major field changes every ball.
Watching it yesterday the one thing that struck me was in a lot of sport you impress for your club to get a chance for your country. In T20 the opposite applies. Play well for your country to win an IPL contract. These England lads are setting themselves up for big cash windfalls next year.

It's cricket, Jim, but not as we know it - hugely entertaining, though.
BTW - did Mark Nicholas REALLY write the Windies off pre-tournament as "a team with no brains"? In public?
