Just noticed the cup final is to be shown on BBC 2 Scotland. Does this mean it won't be in HD and will this have an impact on folk trying to watch it from their holiday resorts?

There's a bbc 2 HD higher up somewhere not sure if you can get bbc Scotland on it though.

Are yous sure? I could have sworn there was a BBC2 Scotland HD up around the late 100 early 200 channels on Virgin

It's not on bbc2 HD - only "normal". On sky at least - HD is channel 142 and it's not listed.

Remember trying to explain to my wife how different it was watching in HD, it was only when I showed her by flipping between HD and regular Sky while a game was on, that she could see the difference. No HD is like watching a game with tears in your eyes. (I know, I know.....).

Feel your pain brother. We will be watching on SD. Like watching with cataracts.

Do you think I'm not like? Just want to have it recorded so I can watch it all again. Disgrace a national cup final is relegated to BBC 2 Scotland SD for a dead rubber rugby game. I just hope all the folk on holiday hoping to see it in a bar are not dissapointed. No idea but I don't think BBC 2 Scotland will be easy picked up in USA, Canaries etc. No way that would be done if it was the old firm!

I'm selling my tickets. Bad enough there might not be a parade but if it ain't in HD on the telly what's the point? It really is ***** being in a cup final.

Was just about to start a thread about the same topic. Not only not on HD but a measly 30 minute build up and an hour long River City just before.

National cup final and a poor show from the BBC yet again

Im still going but only for the curry pie now. Totally taken the shine off the day now cos when Gray lifts that cup, I'm just going to be thinking how I'm going to have to suffer watching it again in 20th century definition.

Won't something please think of the ****ing children?

I genuinely don't think the difference is that big (there is a difference though).

So let me get this right. There is no way of watching this game on HD (or in most people case recording it in HD)?

Wonderful planning.

I see a highlights package is on at night in HD but still...

Feel for our overseas fans if their viewing experience is diminished. Anybody in the UK should be at the match.

What difference does it make? If you want to see it in full mega ultra fantastic HD get a ticket and come to Hampden.

If Rob McLean has any involvement in the broadcast, the viewers won't have to worry about whether it's in HD or not as it will all be the same after you've dozed off about 10 minutes in.

Based south of London, I was going to a mate's to watch it, but he only has a BT subscription. Seems I can't watch BBC2 Scotland online so I presume our only choice is to watch a stream and connect to the TV. Any other suggestions please?

Not having BT, what does the BBC Red button 2 Ch602 give you.

If its a BT Youview box then it should definitely be accessible through the BBC Sport app (press the Red Button on channel 1 or 101) - quality generally pretty good. The app shows all live events that are streamed on the BBC Sport website - as this one is. Only drawback is you won't be able to rewind or record.
