Does McGeouch's injury proneness take the shine off the deal we got from Celtic during the Scott Allan saga?

I think he may have been brought back too early due to our lack of midfielders available

Seems like he can't get a run of more than a few games without falling injured again. Real shame.

He clearly has a problem that either requires surgery or a prolonged period out to recover.

This.
Clearly the same problem throughout the season.
if it needs rest that should be occurring to ensure he is tip top for the play offs

He needs to go away for a while and have surgery or whatever is needed to solve his problem. He's no use to us just now as he seems to play for less than half an hour then has to go off.

Apparently he's had a number of scans on his groin and nothing is showing up.

I had a mate who was exactly the same, a great player who signed for St Albans but couldnt go a month without breaking down with a groin problem.

He was so frustrated by it it drove him bloody mad, but they found out what it was after about 3 years. He had something called gilmours groin, a deep deep problem in his groin, that scans didnt pick up.

I'm pretty sure they'd have scans these days to pick up anything like this as this was nearly 30 years ago, but i can tell you Dylan will be absolutely tearing his hair out with this, all he really wants to do is play football.

Speaking of injuries, whats the latest on Fraser Fyvie?

I posted last week that Hibs shouldn't risk him and get him fully fit before chucking him back. To be honest we looked better when he went off as McGinn went into the centre where I think he's better.

Don't get me wrong I'd play him every week of fully fit but right now this is when we need players to be 100% top of their game and sadly he's not anywhere near fit!

I don't put any of the blame on Dylan yesterday, he only started training during the week and should never have been put in from the start IMO. Poor management decision but it happens.

If a player says he's fit and he's one of the better players the manager will start him. So Dylan has to take some blame here. Stubbs also should have monitored it more though.

I agree in part with what you are saying but I think given the opportunity to play in a Scottish cup quarter final we would all say we were 100% fit and raring to go even if we weren't. Just my opinion but feel it was a poor decision all round for him to start yesterday.

We were in a quandary yesterday, by not having Bartley or Fyvie we're short of midfielders and Stubbs does like his diamond, so he brought Dylan back too quickly.

He is coming back too quickly, when not fully recovered. The problem needs to be resolved properly. He is a very good player for us so I get the temptation to throw him in once he is able to run for 100 yards, but it is not helping us or him.

He apologised to the fans via Twitter for him having to keep coming off injured with the same thing.

For such as young player he certainly seems injury prone which makes me think why Celtic let him go. His groin problem just seems to be getting patched up as opposed to fixed which is why he keeps breaking down. I reckon he needs a full exploratory operation to get the problem sorted once and for all or we will constantly have an injured player on the books
