View Full Version : Hibbies staying behind in Glasgow after the game??

Due to flight times/the need to get back to work ASAP, I'm flying GLA - LGW at about 9pm on the night of the final.

That should give me plenty of time afterwards to - win or lose - have a couple of drinks in Glasgow city centre or indeed around Hampden before getting out to the airport.

Of course, I expect most people will be heading back through to Edinburgh/the East (hopefully to watch a victory parade ) but will any others be staying in Glasgow and having a couple of drinks?

If so, perhaps there could be some sort of a civilised meet-up :greengrin I'm happy to drink on my Jack Jones, but obviously preferable to do so with a couple of intelligent and erudite Hibbies as company..............

Likely to stay through there until the last bus in the event of a defeat.

When we win everyone will want to be in the capital for the parade so I think you'll be drinking with jack jones 😄

Will be staying in Glasgow after the game as well. Not quite sure what the plans are but think it'll just be a case of heading to a pub near Queen St station to have a few beers with other fans while they wait for the train queue to go down. Working on the Monday so can't be a late one though.

IF we win the cup, will they bring it back to ER on the night? Would the parade be the following day?

I'm on the 20:20 back to Heathrow. Don't know if that gives me enough time to go via town after the game, so airport pints it may be!

Staying through for a gig after the game so this would be an ideal scenario!

There'll be a squad of us staying behind to let the crowds disperse before getting a train. Thinking about a pub around Hampden, maybe the Clockwork or if too busy, The Church on the Hill.

So far we have somebody claiming it would be the Monday for the parade and another saying the following week!!

Does anybody actually know? It should be right after the game like the previous twice we have won it

I'm hoping to stay at a pal's that night who lives not too far from Hampden. Can anyone recommend a good Irish pub to head to? More likely to be Hibs friendly (I hope). You have to be careful in the Weege.

Trust me mate, most people don't give a toss. However, if you do want a decent pint of the black stuff in a decent boozer, Heraghty's is a decent shout.

Was going to rush back to Edinburgh on the train IF we won but it looks like there won't be a parade anyway so just as well to stay in Glasgow and let the train crowds disappear. Will be drinking in the Horseshoe

For the airport crew, perhaps The Caledonia on the far side of security would be an amenable location for a jar or 2 pre-flight?

Best bet would be to book a local cab - there's one called Hampden Cars.

I'll see if anyone else is going straight there. They could share a cab

Sounds like a plan. Our flights at 8 so will be heading straight back to the airport after the game for a (hopefully) celebratory couple.

Got on the Citylink bus at 2230 with my old man instead of the 1900 we were booked on. Gave the driver some nonsense story about an RTA on Battlefield Road at 1800, so he just let us on. Only positive of the day!
