Nice that Raith put on their website that we have pursued his signature in "an exemplary manner" and thanking us for doing business with them, certainly the kind of reputation I want us to have.

Welcome Sean!

Tough cheese, Johnny Yam.

Even with with all the Yen banked from Sow they couldn't match our offer. Just shows where that money is going!

More great news, and it says a lot about the young man's attitude that we initially let him go and he is willing to come back. It's not as if he didn't have options, I do believe a certain wee club not too far away were after him too.:greengrin

Has he joined now? Doesn't say anything about a date for him joining in the Summer. If we've managed to get him in now, great. Gives cover for Stevenson in the meantime, with a few cameo appearances with a view to easing him into the team next season?

Seems to be a great prospect, and the fact he's chosen us over Hearts, who will be playing European football next year says a lot about the direction in which we are going. :top marks

I'll be very surprised if we see him anywhere near the first team this season.

If he's half as good as David Murphy then I'll be happy.

I believe he made David Murphy's first touch look like a John Rankin 'squiggler' :greengrin

He can't be, he's been signed outside the window.

Four and a half years is some contract to offer such an inexperienced guy. Hibs certainly see something a wee bit special.

PMSL!!! Yam chum of mine was boasting about signing this lad on Thursday to me. Saying that he would want to better himself with a far superior team.

Indeed he has.

Text him a while ago and the same person said he was utter pish and we could have him.

Farf!

Welcome young man!!

Glad to see we've been competetive for top talent, especially because we were successful in doing so.

I think Hibs may have paid Raith Rovers a fee of about £25,000 for the lad. That may have been too steep for the cheapskates in Gorgie.

Welcome to Hibs Sean. You've made the right choice. You probably can't hoof the ball high and hard enough to go to the PBS anyway.

Poor old Johnny has set himself on fire again!

The Yams and FIRE!!

Is that as in :

(1) asbestos riddled firetrap main stand?

(2) a ribald reference to the first world war which, to be clear, no one else took part in, at all?

(3) a reference to George Burley and mad Vladimir, just as burley was about to be "unbeatable" forever?

(4) what hearts fail to do to their paedophilic employees?

The boy obviously shows lack of ambition signing for a team as small as ours, especially when there were far bigger famous teams after him

Hearts changing their tune now they missed out. Neilson is in the DR this morning saying they looked at him but Raith wanted too much money!

Neilson really is a classless ****.

I see Neilson is also saying that after playing on poor surfaces on their travels in recent weeks, something that obviously affects their silky passing game, it is good to be back at a good playing surface like Tynie for the next 3 games.
Given it was the only unplayable pitch in Britain a couple of weeks ago that statement is a cracker.

Not only was 25k too steep for the biggest team on the planet but I have heard that Raith actually wanted the money to be paid. That's when Hearts backed out.

Note they don't say he wasn't good enough or didn't fancy him - £25K seems like too much:

“He did a couple of days training with us and he was decent but Raith were looking for quite a substantial fee"

Didn't they just (allegedly) make £1M from Sow?????

They are signing David Alaba from Bayern Munich in the summer, hence why they are claiming they dropped out. Don't want to be £75K short to get him.
