The fat sweaty Messi went home in crutches on Tuesday. That may be their goal scorer and penalty diver, sorry, getter out for a bit. Hope so.

An injury to fat boy would be a huge blow to them. Results of the knee scan must be due today i'd think.

He's got 28 goals this season. I didn't know they'd had that many penalties.

The current rumour is that Foghorn Waghorn out for the next 6-8 weeks.

First long term injury to a key player they've had this season, let's see how they cope. We just need to keep doing our thing and keep the pressure on.

Is he related to waghorn-pen who scores all their goals?

Big_Franck

Not been confirmed yet but they seem to believe he's out for 6 weeks on the the rangers media forum. With O'Hallaron and Billy King being cup-tied it would leave them quite short for their Scottish Cup game against Dundee as well.

11 penalties according to the commentary on the Killie game, which saw him go down like a bag of spuds in the Killie box for a penalty and an identical situation with the Hun defender go unpunished in the second half

6-8 weeks is the rumour. If it is that's a major blow to them and he would likely be out of the forthcoming title decider.... May be back for the play offs though....

in the interests of fairness, Dundee have still to get past Dumbarton first

I never like seeing any player get injured and think we can beat them at full strength.

To be honest id say the majority of pens they get are legit. Waghorn is a very good player, 28 goals at this point in the season is pretty outrageous. Absolutely delighted if he misses the game at ER

He has only scored 4 goals from open play against full time opposition.

11 pens so 17 goals from open play. Fairly average for a player earning as much as he will be.

Nearly all of his goals from open play were against Alloa and Dumbarton as well

Cummings is currently 7 goals behind Waghorn in the scoring charts for the league. Ladbrokes are still offering 10/1 for Cummings to finish the season top scorer.

Looks like a good bet unless you take into account who will now be taking Rangers pens. :greengrin

Also read the rescheduled Rangers game is likely to be April 19th or 20th - so he'll be back for that. It would also be out 3rd last game of the season, so potentially deciding at that point which I thought would be something the SFA/Police would like to avoid.

Now confirmed 6-8 weeks which normally means 8 weeks and more.

Trust me ladies and gentlemen this is a big deal for them. O'Halloran is not a prolific goal scorer, Kenny Miller is we'll Kenny Miller and Clark has not really proved himself.

8 weeks = 10 of remaining 12 games as well as Scottish cup.

Opportunity knocks for Hibs. I can see them dropping points.

Just a pity the transfer window has slammed shut, we could have signed him!

Okay, Wigglywag's out, the refs will still give them penalties therefore no real change, IMO.

It's the first real injury they have had this season. They have either been very lucky or they have an excellently structured training program depending on you point of view.
Either way, this could be a chance for us.

The season as in all of Scotland or the championship?

Cummings has scored so many because we have been playing in lots of competitions and getting to finals and stuff :)

Tremendous ability to be able to score all these goals while dragging his big fat arse around in a wheelbarrow! What a result, GGTTH.

Without Waghorn, Rangers will have to rely on Kenny Miller and Nicky Clark to get a large amount of their goals. Whilst Waghorn is out Rangers have to play Queen of the South, Falkirk and Raith Rovers away as well as Raith Rovers and Queen of the South at home. 5 games against other teams in the top 5 of the championship. This is a massive opportunity for us as they will drop points in a couple of those games, I can see Falkirk beating them and them drawing at least 1 other game.

He tried to pass it sideways a la Barca but mistimed it and got injured. Breadman's told him to cut out the fancy stuff when he takes the pen in his first comeback game for them - the 3rd/4th play-off game first leg

Has Waghorn scored many from open play recently-might work out well for Rangers.
