Big Marv was superb again tonight, but for me Darren was Man of the Match.

Imperious throughout, and a wee tidy up job at the end under severe pressure that was reminiscent of The Sauzee.

Fantastic Big Felly!

There was a tackle at the end that was outrageously good.

Him and Hanlon were both superb

was going to start a thread about this guy. Been quality since he first joined, another faultless performance tonight. Makes it 10 times better knowing that he's a die hard Hibs fan

You know how well him and Hanlon are playing when you see them keeping Liam Fontaine out the side.

:agree: What a tackle, and what a game tonight.

He's possibly been our best signing, not once has he let us down.

It baffles me why Rangers let him go but I'm not going to worry about that too much! :greengrin

I've spoken to Darren as we have mutual friends and I know how much it means to him to play for Hibs. Delighted to see someone like McGregor get a regular game and prove to people what he can do.

IIRC he suffered 2 cruciate injuries when he was at St Mirren? after that facing Juanma is a stroll in the park😀

My MOM tonight (just ahead of Bartley). One of the most assured centre halves we've had for a long time.

Fantastic game. Made some superb no nonsense tackles. Bartley for me was MOTM, but DM ran him close.

Nearly gave me a heart attack at the end with his dribbling out the box!

My MOTM too. Bartley was best in first half but McGregor was pretty much perfect all night and finished his display of in style. No failures tonight though. That was Hearts at full throttle for 45 minutes and I'm not sure if they had a shot on target.

Fantastic performance. Showed what it means being a Hibs supporter playing against them. Another great Stubbs signing.

Absolutely best player on the pitch tonight.

Bartley was good but even he started to lose the place a bit in last 20 minutes.

McGregor was superb for 96 minutes (extra 1 min at half time and 5 mins injury time at end 2nd half)

What a difference when you have players who genuinely want to do their best for the club, manager and fans eh?! May not be the most cultured defender but my **** me he makes up for that in desire, heart, determination and a genuine love of playing for Hibs! Great lad and great signing. MOTM.

Surely he's elevated himself to one of the 2 first choice centre backs now?

Frankly I've been amazed when he's been dropped to the bench. Apart from a slightly below par game at Ibrox recently this guy has been almost faultless since he arrived.

No problem with Fontaine but I prefer a right footer and a left footer pairing and tonight's two centre halfs are a cracking combination IMO.

The laddie was absolutely magnificent this evening. How we got hold of him on a Free, I'll never know. The Rongers must be awash with talent.

I think McGregor and Hanlon will start the cup final though but I'm more than happy for Stubbs to keep rotating all 3 in league games.

He went on a run in our box at the end and I was going absolutely off my head at him to boot it out, ended up skinning three players and finding one of our players with a pass. Excellent. Such confidence and so steady. Great partnership with Hanlon developing there.

An immense performance from Darren, could so easily have been given motm tonight, but I thought Bartley deserved it over the 2 games. As for the thread on Hanlon? I shall say no more :greengrin. We won is all that matters.:greengrin
