The announcer said before the game something about this being the highest attended game in the capital's largest football stadium.

How did TB get over 20k for his first derby and although tonight was sold it out it wasn't 20k? Hospitality perhaps??

People with cup top-ups not attending.

Myself for one. In bed with the flu or something similar.

Looking around tonight there is no way that there were 1000 empty seats or less there than 2nd Jan 2014 Derby.

Hibs have pulled a fly one so the fuds get less cash me thinks.

There is no way there were 1000 spare seats. Did anyone's ST/ticket not scan in properly and have to get let in 'manually' by a steward?????!!!! Just a thought

We may well have sold all the tickets but is the attendance not actual numbers through the door? Having said that saw no empty seats from where I was

Would love ER to be that busy every week !

People attending that require entry through an exit gate, wheelchair access etc do they scan in? (to be fair I've never seen them scan anything but not paid alot of attention)

Is it possible that some of the missing numbers from the official attendance figures are some of these folk? and hibs are just counting turnstile clicks?

Either way that looked about as packed as you could get it so not sure where the empty seats were.

Agree. No way there was 800 seats empty tonight. Really surprised me when the attendance number was announced. Anyway the only important numbers were 1-0. Not the best display but another victory. Sweeter when it's against the Jambos.

The guy in front of me at the turnstile scanned his ticket but didn't push the turnstile quick enough and didn't get in. There wasn't a steward there at the time and by the time one showed up all he could do was send the guy round to the ticket office. I felt sorry for the guy and I don't know if he got in or not.

Dunbar end of the east bottom corner had about maybe 10 rows by 10 seats covered with a flat of some sort. Maybe not as many as that but a decent block. That said place looked packed. What a majestic sight ER full under lights is.

A lot of folk had trouble with scanning their tickets so stewards just checked them and let them in. Was defo over 20k but perhaps because of the scanning faults the proper number of fans didn't show up on the system that tells you how many attended, because of the scanning troubles.

Correct and of course the point is not exactly how many were there tonight but if a percentage of the event followers who turned up tonight will come back when its not Hearts and its not a big deal

I had a problem with my card in the West. It worked after about 6 attempts. There was an old chap just in front of me who wasn't so lucky and was told to go to the ticket office, which he was refusing to do, as he had the cup top up season card.

£28,000 won't pay for the damage to the South Stand, I fear.

Or the cost of fumigation.

BSEJVT

To be honest the actual attendance whether it is quoted correctly or incorrectly doesn't really matter other than for bragging rights.

What matters is the number of seats sold as that it what the clubs revenue is based on,
