Sent my passport forms etc away last Wednesday, new passport arrived today! What a superb service, filled out the form online so just had to print and sign it. Such a simple and quick process for renewing I was amazed.

How do you deal with updating your photo if you renew online?

You still need to send your photo with the signed form but no need to get it countersigned if you are still recognisable from the expired passport you are returning.

How much did it cost?
My passport is due for renewal in March 2017, when should I look at renewing it

About this time last year I lost my wife's passport, don't ask! We were due to go on a 28 day away, 23 day cruise from Buenos Aires to Venice via Brazil, Spain, Malta, Croatia in 6 weeks time. The internet said 6 weeks minimum :-(

Because it was lost it said it may take longer as they would have to investigate. :-( :-(

It only took 3 weeks which is why I'm still alive to tell the tale :-)

Great service, fantastic holiday!

I just sent away for a renewal yesterday. I did it through the Post Office (as I have severe form-a-phobia).
For the renewal fee (£74-ish), charge for checking & postage it cost me a total of £82 + some dross.

BTW, I think you can renew up to 9 months before expiry date.

£72.50 can renew early if you want but maximum time you can carry over to new passport is 9 months.

Just renewed my driving licence online too.
You give them your passport number and they use the photo from that .
Arrived this morning .

The system and service is very easy to use and remarkably quick outwith any holiday rush.

Had to renew my wife's passport, new picture and name change. Sent on the Saturday, new passport received following Saturday.

I recently lost my driving licence (the old paper kind) and had to get a replacement, didn't even have to get a photo as they linked it to my passport so the same awful photo is on both.

Random but does your passport number change each time or is it unique to you?

Mine has run out and I am renewing it but need to put my passport number on something, quicker it is done the better.
