Travelling through to ER on Tuesday from Glasgow. Looking like I'm gonna need to get the train and was wondering if anyone knew when the peak time trains are. Working so gonna need to leave at 5 at the earliest, what's the first off peak train that will get me to ER on time, thanks.

I think 4.30 is the last train you can get on, until the 6.22 mentioned above.

Cheap day tickets are not valid when boarding services leaving Glasgow queen street or central between 16:40 and 18:15, please note that the 18:15 service from qst is also classed as a peak time train.

Avoid the services from qst low level via Bathgate, they take about an hour and fifteen minutes. Better with the high level trains.

If you get the 18:22 you'd miss kick off.

This is a cross country trains only ticket meaning you have to travel an their services only, it also means you would need to travel through from Edinburgh on a cross country service as well to use this ticket. Their services are bi hourly. Join any other operator with a company specific ticket and you'll get charged the full fare.

You would be lucky to make the kick off with the 18:30 unless you get a taxi to the ground from Waverley. That kind of defeats the object of saving a few pounds on the rail fare.

Also beware of booking advance fares on Cross Country as the match is a replay it could go to extra time and penalties. That is assuming that there is a Cross Country train at the right time.

Either pay full whack on the train and catch the 17:15 or 17:30 or get a bus from Buchanan Street at say 17:10. That should get you there in time unless the traffic is particularly bad. Edinburgh Bus Station is slightly nearer to Easter Road than Waverley.

Heading for the 4.30 from Queen Street. Works out OK as need to go to ER to pick up my ticket. Anyone else heading through tomorrow?

Still think it's strange that given I'll be on the train between 4.30 & 5.30 that this isn't considered as a peak time
