Don't think it should be police involvement or anything like that, internal reprimand would be enough considering the taunting he was receiving and the circumstances of scoring a impressive goal in such a heated game.

Shouldn't be made to think it's okay though as it's not something you want kids imitating.

As others have said on here it's hard to take the 'Won't somebody think of the children' approach considering what those same children are subjected to and involved in from our own fans at these games.

All that said, would love it if he's banned from the replay, he's a serious threat on his day.

:agree: And he responded to the abuse as many a young man would do, nothing to see here as far as i'm concerned, players get abused and respond yet supporters get very precious about such responses, as inappropriate as it may have been it was a heat of the moment response and no more should come of it in my opinion.

No I think there is a cross section of all ages who have different views, just to be clear I never said it was acceptable, I said it was inappropriate and explained why I thought nothing more needed to be made of it. I respect your views on it and am happy to be not considered old at 48. :aok:

What annoys the hell out of me is the incident was totally ignored by BBC Sportscene. They have been very quick to grass-up Griffiths for a one finger gesture to his own fans but this gets the lets pretend we did'nt see it treatment.

Don't know many young men who respond to this sort of abuse by rubbings their tackle but hey ho maybe it's different in Scouseland.

I'm not bothered but if it bothers others then fine its there call. I guess the gesture was aimed at everyone who saw it and perhaps many who saw it didn't shout or say anything about him.

Anything against that lot is always worth pursuing.

Not true!

Jason celebrated with the Hibs fans and when he was running back into position looked over at the hearts fans (clearly they were giving him dogs abuse) and simply pointed at his chest.

A gesture saying to them "I am the man"

JC loves scoring against the 'pink pervs' so "I am the man" is a true statement indeed.

In fact I have to say JC showed maturity at the very end, when Stokes played a long ball through to him, that he just couldn't reach. His momentum took him towards the home stand and again you could see the 'pink pervs' giving him pelters. He simply glanced their way and ignored them - Hibernian class

That's a really good point, which usually goes ignored. Wasn't just the come-back but the classy way the players celebrated the goals and result. Hibs Class. :top marks

I'm convinced he was going to stand on the scarf that had been thrown on the pitch but held back.

But that is not the case if the booking was for his celebrating in front of the opposing fans and not the gesture. There are precidents for the compliance officer taking further action. Not least against our own JC when he was booked for his celebration after scoring at Tynecastle last year. The "get it up you" part was missed by the referee and the compliance officer offered a ban, albeit Hibs successfully appealed that.

I totally agree with this but it doesn't appear that performing a borderline sex act in a public place is considered to be worthy of further sanctions by the SFA.

I don't expect any further action to be taken against the wee creep.

It's not my job to alert the compliance officer. It's something which has been viewed on the highlights of the match and also in many still images which have been published as well so it should be fairly easy for him to look at the evidence and charge him.

As for the police, although I think he's fortunate to escape even a talking to from them, I wouldn't waste my time.
