Having organised a bus for the 2012 final I know how hard a job it can be. A thankless task. i Was not on .net bus yesterday but hats off to Paul and whoever else was responsible for the gorgiegreens buses. Great day apart from the football. Pollockshaws bowling club was also a great venue before the game

[QUOTE=Pretty Boy;4618184]To address a few things:
The layout of the 70 seater buses isn't at all ideal. The 3-2 set up is a bit cramped and strange. However if we want to do the numbers we do at the price we offer then it is a case of sacrificing comfort for numbers. If the feedback is that that's not good enough then if I organise buses again then we'll do far smaller numbers at a fiver or tenner more for a 56 or 63 seater. For info we enquired with different coach companies to try and use smaller and frankly better coaches and were quoted upwards of £800.
It's unfortunate 1 of the buses was parked a distance from the ground. Personally I wasn't overly impressed with the policing and stewarding of traffic when we arrived, it seemed a bit of a free for all which is unusual. FWIW I did ask about the other bus being so far away and was told the Police moved it on from a locatiom far closer to the ground.
It did take a long time to get home but we were far from the only ones. I went for a couple of pints on ER post game and most of the people I spoke to who arrived back before us had only been home about 15-20 minutes and there was a fair few buses still rolling back to ER and people joining us in the pub a good 30-40 minutes after we got back.
To end on a positive I thought the cricket club was really good. Queues at the bar weren't at all bad, service was good, staff and members were friendly, kids and big kids got to have a wee kick about on the pitch, the drinks deals were decent and the food offering was good as well. I'd be more than happy to go there again before a game.
So apologies for the things that weren't great. We have probably tried to keep taking big numbers at cheap prices for too long and moving forward it's probably time to cut the numbers and up the price to focus on a bit more comfort rather than just trying to get as many people as we can there and back.[/
Considering the prices charged my group had no complaints at all, other than the result of course :(

To those who spent ages in buses stuck in traffic, if it makes it any better I think the whole area was just gridlock. I parked off Prospecthill Road, east of the stadium, thinking that heading away from Hampden through Rutherglen would be quicker, joining the M74 at junction 2. Got back to the car at 5.20 and joined the M74 at 6.30! Most of the time I just had my engine off and nothing was moving. I've yet to find the best way of getting out of Hampden.
Your better heading back the way to M77, by far the quickest way I've found by car.

:agree:
Problem with the buses is the police forcing them to head for the M74 and it's a complete bottleneck worsened by the queue when you reach the M8.
Credit to our driver by finding a route to the M77.
I used to head for East Kilbride and up through the Raith interchange but that's a bit off a mess now as well.

Interesting tip for next time (assuming there is one), but how do you get to the M77 from where you park?
