That looks good but it would be harsh on Fyvie as he has played well the last couple of weeks. The problem Fyvie has is that if we play with a midfield 3 is he a better sitting/defensive midfielder than Bartley? I'm not sure he is and I think we need Bartley's strength in certain games.

In that formation that leaves two central midfielders that play slightly further forward. Is Fyvie better than McGeouch or McGinn in those positions? I don't think he is.

Tough one for Stubbs but it's great to have options.

If he plays 3 at the back then Bartley isn't needed but that still means 4 into 3 spots.

They usually line up as an attacking 4-3-3. This was their lineup yesterday:-

Mannus

Shaughnessy
Anderson
Scobbie
Easton

Davidson
Lappin

Cummins

O'Halloran
McLean
Wotherspoon

I reckon they will line up with the same front three but midfield and defence may get a slight adjustment or two.

If they play 3 up front our midfield will run riot, unless they press high up the park which is very hard to do all game

Wouldn't surprise me to see the same team as the weekend start and if there was to be one change then it would be Dylan for Marv.

Playing 3 centre halfs would require us playing 2 wing backs who would be Gray and Stevenson. If you also play with 2 strikers it means only 3 midfielders playing out of Bartley, McGeouch, McGinn, Fyvie, Henderson and potentially Thomson.

I think we will go:
Oxley

Gray
Hanlon
Fontaine
Stevenson

Fyvie
McGeouch (Bartley if DM not fit)
McGinn
Henderson

Stokes
Cummings

Same here assuming all are fit. Harsh on Fyvie, Dagnell, McGregor and King Dom but so be it. If Stokes isn't ready then use him from the bench and start Dagnell.

Reading between the lines of Stubbs comment in the Evening News - "We have him for three or four months, not three or four weeks. We want him to be fit for that length of time." I think he'll start on the bench again on Saturday.

Personally I'd give him the first hour!

Remember it is swiney we are playing at - very tight pitch, in fact, I would estimate it to be one of the smallest playing areas in Scottish football.

I'm trying to think of a way to slot Malonga into that team. I think he could be very useful in a game like this. But it's hard to argue with that team.

Dagnall and keatings are also options as extremely hard workers. I think one of them could start if there was any question marks over stokes being fully match fit.
