It's hard to judge without having a camera either straight on or behind the goal, hopefully BBC highlights might have another angle although I won't hold my breath. Can't really see exactly what he's got the wall covering from the Hibs TV angle.
I'm one of his biggest critics but in this instance happy to give him the benefit of the doubt, it was a good hit from the St Mirren boy - think Clangers let himself down more on Henderson's really, did the classic 'take a step forward/behind the wall' and got beaten at the side of the goal he was covering. Equally, though, a really well hit freekick.

That 2nd half was so one sided it should have been stopped. We controlled the ball and passed it around them like traffic cones.
How we only got one more and had to wait until the last minute is beyond me.
A good performance Hibs.

Billy's thread on here with a link to the Hibs TV highlights. :greengrin
I thought he was fine at the game from the West Upper at that side, but seeing the replay I reckon he could have been better positioned without sacrificing too much cover on 'his' side of the goal.
I just thought it was a well struck free kick with no real blame attached. I still do.

I actually thought Saints best spell in the game was the first 10/15 of the second half. We started sluggish but after that we controlled it again and never looked in danger of losing another goal.

Yip. they managed to get in our half a couple of times in those first 10 mins. :greengrin

😁 That's pretty much all they did do as they didn't threaten our goal!

First ten minutes of the second half aside, we were excellent today - moved the ball really well and really quickly, and created loads of chances. Often we can be criticised for missing chances, but today we hit the target with almost all of them, with the goalkeeper making good saves and a few off the line as well. The attacking quality we had on the bench is amazing as well.
Speaking of which, Stokes was superb, didn't waste a touch and linked up superbly - in that twenty minutes or so, he probably showed more link up play than he did in his whole season here before - he is a different player; a better player. Didn't at all look like a guy who hadn't played since August.
Was impressed with Dagnell also, looks a clever player and brought two good saves from the keeper when presented with shooting opportunities outside the box. We were really good in the final third today - if little flicks or touches didn't come off around the box, we kept the ball alive, made things happen, and put St. Mirren under immense pressure.
At this point in time, that Dumbarton away defeat is the only real bad result we've had (two home draws against Falkirk and St. Mirren, I can live with - and I think last week's draw at Falkirk was a good point under the circumstances).
Other than that, we've lost our two most difficult away games (at Ibrox), and taken four points from the second most difficult venue. Rangers have lost their two most diffucult away games so far (us and Falkirk), and still have to visit both venues again. Could be pivotal, and who knows, they could have a Dumbarton result in them too.
I'm very pleased with the four players we have signed in this window, and the squad is far, far stronger now than it was than when we played Rangers in that first competitive game of the season - is theirs? I think they've signed a keeper, a midfielder and let a loanee go back to Spurs.
Let's see what happens.

Not really blaming him, just think he could have been better positioned. Hibernian Retro have the goal from a camera behind the goal, and I still think he could have been better positioned :greengrin
Was a good free kick though. :agree:

Opinions.
Oxley may well agree with you. :greengrin

I think it's a bit of both. Poor positioning gave him no chance but even if he was positioned correctly he would only have had a slim chance as it was a well hit free kick.

I was impressed with our movement today, however I thought we were so slow at some points in the first half.
Also not sure about the diamond in midfield. I know it's meant to be fluid and it worked for us well yesterday but I think better team may take advantage of us not being a flat 4 and getting the ball wide quickly.
Having said that it's irrelevant to yesterday as we won with some really good football and scored 3 terrific goals 👍
