Shaw has potential to be a good player but still a bit raw. One to watch though.

Agree he's a bit raw but he reeks of ability. Could be one of the best we've ever produced.

Agree. Bags of skill and ability. I've always thought his decision making isn't always great but that's why he's raw. That will come with experience and playing games. He'll be a player for us.

Remember that as if it was yesterday. Can't remember what I was doing yesterday though!

i remember Alan Gordon scoring all 4 in a 4-0 game at Airdrie. The legend that was Tommy Preston always reminded me he was the previous Hibs player to score 4 on that ground in an 11-1 win! The great Joe seemed to score 3 or more nearly every week & no one will ever equal him scoring 4 at the PBS against the champions elect, as a 17 year old!

Have seen Shaw 3 or 4 times this season.
Looks really promising.
I think he is only 17 years old.

Arthur scored 4 in a 6-0 win over Falkirk at ER, which was the same day as Partick humped Sellik 4-1 at Hampden in the LC Final.

Joe Baker [4 ,including a 9+5]
Bobby Combe [3 ]
Lawrie Reilly [2]

Great stuff but you've missed out Sir Tom Preston's 4 against Airdrie in, IIRC, 59/60 season. I have to keep Tommy's memory alive here. Separately, Eddie Turnbull was guest of honour some years back at London Hibs Burns Night. In my role as MC I asked Eddie, tongue in cheek if his 4 goals against Celtc, amazingly inc 3 pens, were his best 4 goal haul. Naw son, he said, I preferred my 4 against Man U! Cue all the young folk in attendance suddenly queueing for autographs from this gnarled veteran!

Reilly scored 3 against Hearts and a week later scored 4 against Motherwell.

Wow!! I thought I knew pretty much everything about my hero Joe Baker but those stats are ridiculous!! 6 hat tricks in less than 4 months & another 13 goals on top! 31 goals in 16 games, Joe really was a superstar! Oh, & he was 19 years old when he did this, Jason, Leigh etc , eat your heart out!

And a full England cap. First player from outwith the Football League to make his debut. Took around 40 years for another player (Owen Hargrieves) to do the same.
