I've never been to a cup derby at the piggery, when was the last one and what's our record like in cup games.

Season 70/71 at Tynecastle in the Scottish. We won 2-1.

Overall we have played 32 times in the Scottish, Hibs have won 10, Hearts 14 with 7 draws and 1 abandoned.

With Hearts as the home side we have played 15, won 5, lost 6 and drawn 5

The 70/71 game was the start of a decade of domination for Hibs, great goals as well from John Hazel & Arthur Duncan. :flag::flag::flag:

Over 30,000 and none of this loyalty points nonsense. Get in the queue early and take a seat. Well maybe not a seat unless you were in the Queen Victoria Stand.

I'm sure we played them in the cup under Mixu. 0-0 at Tynie and they beat us at Easter Road. Maybe I'm getting mixed up with league games

Beat Meadowbank 1-0 circa 1980 😀

So Hearts haven't beaten Hibs in the cup at Tynecastle for 50 years!

Time to equal it up.

Straight red quite early on I think.....Mixu commented that the Hearts player had leapt like a brown trout.

Indeed although they have won 4 of the 6 Scottish Cup games since that one.

We won the last one though so time to put a wee run of our own together. We're unbeaten in 3 against them so hopefully we keep that going.

I'm already worried that he'll be the man in the middle simply because this is the biggest game in the round and despite all the evidence the cheat seems to be regarded as one of our best referees. We'd have a fairer chance if Jim Jeffries was appointed.

Fair point. Doubt we will get Willie Collum again.

One of my favourite ever games was a 1958 quarter final at the wongadome.
Joe Baker scored all 4 goals in a 4-3 win. :flag:

Willie Collum, Steven McLean and Bobby Madden seem to be the referees who get the big games these days so I'd expect it to be one of them.

One of my favourite ever games. Recall John Hazels being a diving header and Arthur ' s a long run down the left wing and popping it in from a ridiculous angle. Probably wrong but I love the memory. John Hazel obviously being a good Stirling man. (Cowie if I remember correctly). Thinking of which, we have had some cracking players from Stirlingshire over the years.

We did lose a cup semi to Aberdeen around 93 - very tight game that finished I think 1-0 to them perhaps Scott booth scoring.

I'd throw John Beaton in there too. He got the yams v sheep cup game though so hopefully we won't get that half wit.

Great memories of 1971. A fantastic diving header from John Hazel in the first half and a trademark mazy dribble from Arthur Duncan late on!!

We've lost a couple of semis there over the years. Dunfermline 65 when we were in a position for the double?
