Serious question here.....

What would everyone hope for....

League Cup Win
or
Promotion (champions/playoffs)
or
Scottish Cup.

Realistically I reckon League Cup and Promotion is what we could achieve.

Thought's?

Last season I would have agreed with this but I feel this season it's imperative that we get promoted.

Can i be greedy & take all 3 though?......

Cups are just a bonus, going up is our number one target.

If the club is to continue to progress to get to a position where we are challenging for trophies regularly we need out of this league.

Scottish Cup over League Cup obviously, but if I had to choose only one of the three, it would definitely be promotion.

Another year without the Scottish Cup I can live with, I'm used to it! I do not want another year in the second tier. Not at all.

Another year in the doldrums might easily confine us to many more years in the doldrums. Each year we are in the Championship, the less likely we are to get out of it. I want to see my team challenging at the top level always, not wallowing about in the dross with the odd cup success thrown in for compensation.

Easy enough to say promotion is the most important this season - and it probably is.

However, not one of us would look back in the Summer and say it was a more enjoyable season, or as big a moment in our history.. than if we were to win the Scottish Cup Final.

Rangers staying down and Hibs wining the League would bring them a little closer in terms of enjoyment :greengrin

For fear of contradicting myself, I'll just take all 3 :agree:

SC and LC wins, with League reconstruction meaning Hibs enter the Premier by default?

Winning all round.

If we could just add Falkirk winning the league and The Rangers permanently ceasing to exist following another liquidation then I think we'd have a "Daffy Duck" situation on our hands.

It has to be promotion .... I wouldn't have said that last year, but the clubs progress depends on being in the top league, not unfortunately winning the Scottish or League cups.

Put it this way, if we don't go up we would need to win the league cup or Scottish cup just to keep a lot of fans on side.

Scottish Cup every day of the week for the most amazing day out, an after-party which would have Edinburgh rocking for a week and we'll all wallow in it for years to come. Every player, and the manager, would become legends. The merchandising alone would be worth ££££ to Hibs.

Promotion is simply a bit more money and getting beat more often. That can wait.

Dunno how you working that one out, we are far more likely to win the league next season if Rangers aren't here.

I see our remaining in the Championship offering diminishing returns. Our financial situation will deteriorate, we will find quality players reluctant to stay and come into the team. If we don't get promoted this year, I don't think we will have such a good team. We will have probably an improved St Mirren team and a D Utd. team to contend with so I think your notion that we might have it easier is wide of the mark.

Ps. there's also every chance that Stubbs might not be with us next year.

Undecided but not sure how anyone can say that winning the Scottish cup and not being promoted would hit us that badly financially! Ok we may lose a little more than we would've had we been promoted but We would make millions from the cup run, the European stint next season and the merchandise sales over the summer! I'm sure a few of the players would then be willing to hang around for a crack at European football!

My statement didn't include the premise that we would win the SC. I've said from the start that promotion is the be all and end all as far as I'm concerned but I would conceed that an unlikely win in the SC would financially ease the pressure of another year in the Championship............. I'd still rather not risk it 'tho.

100% promotion.

I said the same last year when people were asking the same question ahead of the semi final against Falkirk. A club the size of Hibs simply can't accept being in the second tier of Scottish football for three years on the trot.

We need to get back into the top league and until that happens everything else is secondary in my opinion.
