Starts this morning, How do we think it will go?

Think Anderson is out so this is a massive blow and I reckon SA will win this test.

South Africa win the toss and choose to bowl.
A good batting performance needed here.

Raining!!! Got up early for it and it's raining.

Taking in Lincoln v Halifax today so wanted to watch some good cricket before set off. Oh well.

I think Cook needs dropping.

Cook needs dropping? He's the leading scorer in test cricket in 2015 with 1357 runs

267-9 Jonny just out.

I can not see this lasting much longer. Still think its under par but as they were 12-2 not too bad.

Would you keep same team or bring Anderson back in?

HUTCHYHIBBY
30-12-2015, 10:19 AM
They're making all the right noises about Anderson's fitness, I'm not sure its worth the risk though.

Zazu62
30-12-2015, 02:28 PM
If Anderson is fit he plays simple really. As for South Africa they have a whole list of problems. Amla looks completely out of his depth as a captain and out of form. Players like duminy and de plessis out of form. Next test is in Cape Town were SA are usually very strong

SA 353-3 at the end of day 3, pretty turgid stuff but, understandable given the circumstances.

Absolutely. Still has a few rough edges but definitely one of the best young players in Test cricket.

What's happened to the wicket today? 87 for 4 at lunch?

So - are England really really good, or are SA really really rubbish?

And has Johnny Bairstow suddenly become a really really good wicketkeeper after all the flak he was getting for missing de Villiers in the 2nd Test?

That was a very fine performance from England. Root, Broad, Bairstow, Stokes all outstanding.

SA are missing 2 of the best bowlers in the world in Steyn and Philander. They are a big loss. They got blown away in India and i think they are still recovering from that

You did call it yesterday Hutchy.

Not finishing series the way they can/should gives their critics a stick to beat them with.

:agree: Very disappointing after playing so well in the first three Tests.

Botham was saying that this Test didn't matter, that the series had been won and it was a tremendous achievement to beat the world #1's on their own patch (which it was), but when supporters spend a lot of money to fly out to support you they deserve better than that limp display.

I'm inclined to agree with Bob Willis on The Verdict - England have a team half of whom are very good indeed, and the other half we just don't know yet.

In another sense Botham was right - they've won the series comfortably and done the job they were sent to do and nothing should take that away from them.

Still ....

Just a thought - what about those supporters who were singing all through the session? Didn't they deserve better than an abject surrender like that?
