Watched John on Peter and Roughie tonight, and Ranks floated the idea that it should be written into the contracts of professional footballers that they should give up a few hours a week to coaching kids fooball.

I think the kids would love that, whether it be a couple of hours assisting a current boys club setup, or taking a schools team (which appears to be in decline due to lack of resource)

Thoughts?

Would be a great idea, can imagine the opportunity to be coached by one of your heroes as a youngster would encourage you to want to go to your local bog of a football pitch on a cold December night for an hour or two

I have a lot of time for Rankin, liked him when he was at Hibs and though he put up with a lot of stick from the fans, he never hid.

Could be good for parents too mind you. I would imagine a few of the mothers would have learned some new "ball skills" after a session run by Leigh Griffiths.....
