6th October, Joe Baker died aged 63 after suffering a heart attack during a charity golf tournament. Joe had two spells at Hibs and played a total of 137 competitive games and scored 114 goals.

November, Hibs abandoned plans to move to a stadium, shared with Harts, at Straiton.

5th February, Hibs played Rangers in the semi-final of the League Cup after beating Celtic 2-1 in the quarter-final. The game ended 1-1 and with more scoring in extra time, Hibs eventually won 4-3 on penalties.

14th March, Hibs faced Livingston as favourites in the final of the League Cup. Hibs lost the game 2-0.

20th April, Williamson resigned as manager to take up the same role with Plymouth Argyle. His turbulent relationship with sections of fans meant that few regretted his decision to move on.

21st April, Williamson’s assistants, Gerry McCabe and Jim Clark took temporary charge while a replacement was found. Gudjon Thordarson accepted the job on an interim basis but changed his mind a day later.

24th May, Englishman, and former Celtic captain, Tony Mowbray was the surprise choice as the new manager.

3rd/10th May, Mowbray’s first games in charge were against FK Vetra in the Intertoto Cup, however the games had come more than a month before the start of the season and Hibs lost 2-1 on aggregate.

Hibernian Ladies won the League Championship, in doing so they only conceded eleven and scored 93 goals and dropped only two points, they had however been beaten in both cups by FC Kilmarnock.
