That is a massive (welcome) surprise. Considering The GFA have now let him play in the SEVCO game.

Can't believe it but that's a fantastic boost for us over such a critical sequence of games.

Great news and tend to agree to be honest as dont think there was a real intent to injure. Yellow would have sufficed

What a bonus that is, never in a million years did I think he'd win it. Well done Stubbs for contesting it.

Yes both games as was now only a yellow. While the Rangers game is huge we also have a very important game in between times.

I thought it was a nailed-on red card at the game and the highlights didn't change my mind in the least. He was unlucky because of the circumstances leading up to it but he lunged in over the ball and was imo rightly sent off.

Delighted and surprised at this news.

My thoughts exactly. Great, and surprising news, but that red card changed the Falkirk match completely and likely cost us 2 valuable points, which could prove crucial at the end of the season.

MCGINN APPEAL UPDATEBy: Hibernian Media on 17 Dec, 2015 11:30

Hibernian Football Club can confirm that John McGinn’s two game suspension has been overturned by a Scottish Football Association disciplinary panel.
McGinn received a straight red card for a challenge in Saturday’s Ladbrokes Championship fixture against Falkirk, but this has now been overturned and has now been reduced to a yellow card.
The midfielder is now available for selection for Saturday’s game against Queen of the South at Easter Road on Saturday.

It's a conspiracy - there has to be something furtive about it that helps der hun. There just has to be.

I said a couple of times that for it to be a red the ref should really make a determination that there was malicious intent. I doubt anyone would think that was the case with JM's challenge. The problem with Clancy on Saturday, & with Scottish refs in general is they rush to judgement & don't allow themselves a few seconds to make a proper evaluation. Like you I'm surprised & delighted.

Delighted but yet again Hibs are on the wrong side of a poor refereeing decision

It really wasn't poor, it was a for sure red card. We'll take it greatly though that it's been overturned!!

That's the answer I would have given (honest!) - the replay didn't make it clear exactly what had happened and I didn't see it as a red-blooded challenge at the game. It's not as if we had a few HD angles to settle the matter.

There was a still photo on one of the threads showing that he did not go over the ball. He missed the ball, yes, but it was a late challenge. The guy's injury was caused by his kicking motion as much as it was J McG sliding in.

That said, I'm gob-smacked that they actually reversed the decision.

Once again evidence that peaceful, freedom-loving Johnny Hun is under the cosh from unscrupulous fascist footballing officialdom here in Scotland. When will Rangers ever get a fair deal?

I'm in two minds over this - half of me is delighted he's won his appeal, and the other half of me can't understand why.

Given that McGinn will now be free to face Sevco Huns, is this the clearest sign yet that reconstruction is on the way?
