27th October, after beating Rangers 1-0 through a Keith Wright goal in the semi-final of the Skol League Cup, Hibs faced Dunfermline in the final at Hampden. Tommy McIntyre converted a penalty in the 49th minute and Keith Wright put the cherry on the cake with his 86th minute goal. Hibs were again Cup winners.

January, Chairman Douglas Cromb stated it would make economic sense to share a ground with Hearts, and consideration was made to move to a purpose built stadium at Straiton on the outskirts of the city. An application was submitted on behalf of Straiton Ltd. Straiton Ltd also offered to buy Tynecastle at over the market rate.

May, Hibs won two and drew two of their last four league games to secure 5th in the league and a place in the UEFA Cup.
