Just wondering what people think about this new protest camp in Holyrood Park

I lost interest in that article as soon as I read that the couple thought the referendum result was rigged.

They should be moved on at the first opportunity. All rather silly and embarrassing for those involved unfortunately.

They say they are prepared to stay as long as it takes and then are quoted saying they are willing to stay for 5 years? So which is it.

You have to be a little eccentric to do something like that so the fact they think it was rigged is no great surprise.

If this was travelers the council would move them on. Surely the same rules apply to all?

Whit a load o nonsense. Attention seeking at its worst that should be moved on at the earliest opportunity...sure there is plenty of causes that we could have lots of camps for...maybe a Hibs Scottish cup camp, although to be fair I'm not sure there is many who would put themselves forward for such a sentence!!

An eyesore on a nice park area.

Must admit I always thought the Calton hill campers were a bit nuts.

Speaking of which, I see the guy who was camped in a layby on the A9 at Blair Atholl for years has been moved on. What was he there for?

Quite sad, a bit eccentric but he was evicted from the layby because Transport Scotland considered he was a hazard on the A9.

Reckon that they'll last about as long as the Occupy people in St Andrew Square.

How enormously tiresome. Way to ruin a nice picturesque piece of parkland.

Weirdos, one and all.

Edit - they've outlasted the Occupy people in St Andrew Square. Will they outlast the wee caravan on Calton Hill?

Seen it the other day. I thought it was gypos at first but then I seen they were eating right out of pots used for cooking and realised it was a bunch of smelly tinkers living in it.

How they think this a positive contribution to the independence cause I will never know.

Ahh that's the benefit of being in the EU I suppose ;-)

Think the judge has been overly cautious here and pretty sure when the legal system finally gets round to the next hearing the eviction will be given the green light.

For one I certainly hope it does cause the camp is a blight on the landscape and I fail to see what it does to further any cause. Tourists and locals alike must shake their head at the thought of that mess persisting much longer.

I don't suppose they are doing any harm - except to the cause of Independence!

Nicola must find that kind of "hairy knees" performance a bit cringe-making in this day and age.

I see that the judge has retired to make his (probably) final judgement in this case.

I hope it backs the parliament's view but must admit that producing a document from Christ, the King of Scotland to support your case deserves some consideration!

Agree. The devolution vigil had a point. Glad this lot have been moved on. Yes has to have a much more mature message beyond folks who pay for anti-BBC posters and camp out by the parliament with Arbroath Declaration posters and celtic flags: that's not going to turn the neutrals.

If anything, it's going to turn them against it. Glad this cringeworthy mob have been moved on regardless.
