Docherty was one of the few books we had to read in high school I actually enjoyed. It tempted me to look further into McIlvaneys works and I read and enjoyed many of his books.

Agree Docherty was a fantastic book. Also loved Laidlaw. Brilliant writer like his brother Hugh. RIP.
