That's what I was thinking as well. I'm sure McGinn going to see him would have really lifted him. Kids love seeing their footballing idols and that's one very small consolation I'm sure his family will take from what's happened to Brendon.

Yes, we should. Really cant get used too this minutes applause thing. I suspect it is done when clubs know apposition fans will not observe it but there should be no problems on that score come Saturday. A real heartbreak for his family. May God bless you son, RIP.

Why not both, have a minutes silence before the game and have a minutes applause on the 14th minute, he deserves it.

:agree: Of course, his family need to have the final say but I personally feel that a minute's silence is the most appropriate tribute in this particular case.

John Greegan the Sports Journalist at the Daily Mail did a very good and moving report on the very sad passing of young Brandon. John Mcginn was said

to be in particular deeply struck at the sad news, as I'm sure everyone at the Club was. Well done John Greegan, shows you have a good heart.

God bless you young Brandon and the family.

Stubbs, meanwhile, insists he will take part in the planned 14th minute applause that will celebrate the life of Brandon Walker.
Hibs fan Walker, who was visited by midfielder John McGinn in hospital, tragically passed away at the age of 14 last Friday night due to a rare lung and heart condition.
Fans are planning a minute’s applause during Saturday’s match against Falkirk.
Stubbs – who was named Labrokes Championship Manager of the Month for November on Monday, added: “Of course I’ll be joining in at the touchline. I’m sure the fans have already heard about dedicating the 14th minute applause to Brandon. It’s a nice touch.
“It’s devastating news for the family, I know John went in to see Brandon last week and when John heard the news he was personally really affected by it on Friday.
“I would like to pass on, on behalf of the team, coaches, all the staff and the club, our condolences at such a difficult time for them.
“And I would like to dedicate my Manager of the Month award to Brandon.”

I don't think reference to Hibs Class is required or even appropriate to be honest. That term is generally used to point score,in this case AS has done what pretty much many other managers would or have done in a similar situation.

That term isn't meant to point score at all scouse. It's meant as an approval of conduct by the support, nothing more. In this case it's appropriate imo.

Really? I apologise if I have got it wrong but the amount of times I see it used in relation to something we have done as opposed to the actions of another team made me think otherwise.

Anyway that's for another thread and I will delete my post with apologies also to Albanian Hibs, this is about the tragic loss of a young life and I shouldn't have digressed.
Back on track I think the minutes applause is a fitting tribute, the story of young Brandon is heartbreaking it really is, such a sudden loss of one so young brought tears to my eyes when I read the story.

Just read the Evening News article with tears streaming down my face. Horrible tragedy but well done to everyone at Hibs for a brilliantly observed tribute at the game and also the Falkirk contingent for joining in the applause. My heart really goes out to those than Brandon left behind. I wonder if we could get a whip around for a stone in the East in the young man's memory from Hibs.net. A simple no.14 may be the most moving tribute
