Not taking the car on Saturday and planning to get the train through so will be able to have a couple (hic) of pints.

Is there anywhere worth going in Greenock or where others are going or should I just have a few beers in Glasgow before getting the second train?

My train gets into glasgow at 1pm so interested in seeing if Hibs fans are having a drink in Glasgow?

To confirm is Cartsdyke best station for ground?

From Scottish Football Ground Guide

The nearest station to the ground is Cartsdyke which lies on the Glasgow Central - Gourock line. The journey from Glasgow takes around 40 minutes and then the ground is about a five minute walk from Cartsdyke Station.

The Norseman Pub is on Sinclair Street at the home end of the stadium. Think we got the upstairs the last time we played through there.

The Old Bank Bar gets decent reviews on numerous sites, never been in it though.

Just checked the train prices, they are having a laugh. How can they justify £23 ?

Just checked the train prices, they are having a laugh. How can they justify £23 ?Well, I suppose they can. they probably can get you through there quite early if you are prepared to get a bus or taxi to a main train station, skip on this train/that train and run the risk of travelling through the badlands unscathed to eventually reach your destination, and have the beauty of an other uninterrupted journey home, rather than go to the trouble of jumping on a supporters bus that will take you from, say, Musselburgh straight to Greenock and hopefully be with a group of likeminded fans while entering a pre-arranged club/pub destination before the match for a ridiculously high charge of £12/13 .

Split the journey, buy an Edinburgh - Glasgow return and a Glasgow - Cartsdyke return.

Yellow warning for wind (43mph) and pishing rain all day.

The joys of uncovered open-air terrace. Wrap up! :cb

Far too cheap when you add in the on board video service with personal headphones, recliner seats and hostess trolley service.

Why all the fuss....Take the bus. :aok:

Anyone planning on heading to the Norseman before the game?

Still deciding whether to pick a boozer in Glasgow and then head straight to the ground or get into Greenock and drink there.

Will I be able to take my 14 year old son in there?
