Season 1982-83
September, with fans disgruntled, Waugh sacked Auld.
Waugh looked to appease the fans and appointed Dunfermline’s manager Pat Stanton. He also brought in Jimmy O’Rourke and George Stewart as his assistants.
While Stanton helped improve the moral at the club he was not given any extra cash to substantially improve the team.
Money was however found to bring in Alan Rough from Partick Thistle.
