Season 1976-77

September, Hibs fans were shocked by the news that Pat Stanton had been transferred to Celtic, in exchange Hibs received Jackie McNamara.

24th December, Hibs won their first home league game against Ayr Utd, 1-0 thanks to a Filippi own-goal, this was in front of a crowd of less than 4,000.

April, Hibs ended the season in 6th place, but were only saved from relegation thanks to 8pts they took from Hearts, when it was only 2 points for a win - Hearts were relegated. Hibs only won 8 games but drew 18 (exactly half of their games). Hibs set a record for most drawn games in a season, with two Scottish Cup, two League cup and a UEFA cup game all drawn, a total of 23 games.
August, Hibs again made history by sporting the first sponsored shirts in the country. However the Bukta shirts were banned from TV, Hibs wore their purple strip in televised games.
