View Full Version : John McGinn Song
Following on from the Jason Cummings song thread, was thinking we also need a song for John McGinn given how outstanding he has been...simple but effective...
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
Super John McGinn, John McGinn, Super John McGinn
(to the tune of Baby Give It Up)

Beats his man and scores a gem
He's got a Hibees team shirt on
We know that we will win

Simple, straightforward and works. Isn't a rehash of some other song we've been using over the years either.

The John McGinn bit needs slowed down a bit to scan properly. One syllable short of the original!

It does. Does it not have to be "you ain't seen nothing like wee John McGinn" in the last line though?
Bang up to date and on trend us Hibbies. :greengrin

Well I thought I knew better than the Yank Bob Dylan as to use a phrase 'ain't seen nothing' that means correctly 'you have seen something'. What did we sing in regards to the Mighty Pat Quinn? Was he playing with Hibs when the song became famous?

Playing 1968 when the song hit the charts. Didn't take us long to use it for Pat. Same words.
You are kidding right?
I hardly know any players, if any, that the tune is used for. Unless I'm missing your point

Be better singing 'You won't see anything like John McGinn'. It does of course mean that we have to negotiate a three syllable word instead of two but I honestly think we can do it. :aok:
Plain English.
