Shocking news that possibly the greatest ever rugby player has died suddenly aged just 40. A colossus of a player.

Not a rugby man myself but I remember at school he was who every player wanted to be.

40?! No age at all.

Such sad news, so shocked. He used to brush players off as if they were nothing.

Never been much of a rugby fan, but I remember watching Lomu when I was younger and it was clear that he had a special talent even to someone who doesn't like rugby. RIP.
Is it clear how he died yet?

He's had kidney problems for years - had to have a transplant. It caused him to retire early as well.

He was over here for the WC - if he knew he was dying he kept it quiet.

I'm glad Habana didn't break his record of WC tries now.

It's now being reported that the great man died of a cardiac arrest. Jonah was one of the superstars of Rugby Union and it's difficult to comprehend how such a magnificent athlete can be taken away at the tender age of 40.

RIP Jonah.

Really sad news. He's arguably still the most famous rugby player in the world.

A genuine sporting legend.

tragic so it is, the man would have set records that would never have been beaten if his career wasn't cut short so early, sad loss to the sport, was kinda glad Habana didn't equal his try score record in the WC just finished

Don't like rugby very much but certainly know all about Jonah Lomu. He was some player and his performance vs England at the 95 WC must be one of the greatest performances by one player.

Sad to see anyone lose their life at the age of 40.

My only real memory of the man was that he was huge and could run like a horse. RIP Big Man.
